I'd been thinking it'd be great if there were a companion introduction episode where the character who seemed to be the new companion turned out to be the villain, and the character who seemed to be the villain turned out to be the new companion. To avoid spoiling it with the casting announcement, they would both be played by the same person.
A kitsune would also be pretty neat. (And would work well with the above plot, what with the shapeshifting and all.)
Then there's the idea I came up with for a Doctor Who RP a while back and liked enough to use again elsewhere: an android fairy queen built for a fantasy amusement-park planet that was shut down, but she avoided being scrapped and ended up traveling around trying to find a place to rebuild her "kingdom".
