Real Life writes the plot when it comes to Rose's and Raiden's relationship. Legend has it that the codec calls were based off of Kojimsa forgetting his anniversary with his wife and it is hiding revealing his shame via the codec calls.

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyI can't believe Solidus was Raiden's girlfriend all along.
Isn't today the day that big boat thing crashed into Manhattan? Man that was a weird occurrence, I'm sure people will be talking about it for years.
Seriously though, it does seem like Arsenal Gear only gets mentioned twice in games set after Sons of Liberty.
Everybody in-universe basically tries to forget Metal Gear Solid 2 even happened. When Liquid tried to bring it up Snake smashed his head into a pipe to make him forget. Raiden ditched his wife in order to forget the Big Shell event and went through extreme plastic surgery.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I think the only thing that Konami can do to save Kojima-less Metal Gear short of a reboot is to remake MG1 and 2.
Scratch that, remaking MG1 and 2 has a better chance of saving the series than rebooting it.
It would also be hilarious, though unlikely, if Nintendo funds a project like that like Bayonetta.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Preferably, a reboot should be done with these ideas.
No offense but those ideas seem really fanfic-y to me, and not in a good way.
To be honest, I'm perfectly content with letting series rest in peace. Like, if by some witchcraft we ever get a Revengeance 2, then awesome; but aside from that just let it be.

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheySeconded. The series just won't be the same without Kojima's bizarre plots and insane attention to detail.
Say what you will about Kojima but he does pay attention to detail and he does know how incorporate his ideas into his action movie pastiche game.
"We are just like Irregular Data. And that applies to you too, Ri CO. And as for you, Player... your job is to correct Irregular Data."He also put a vampire killing minigame and a Monster Hunter minigame into two of his games. And blew a lot of money on what ended up being an unfinished product with a lot of repetitive missions. Then again, Snake's sweat glands and rock-climbing technique were worth it.
Oh, and 'dem titt, I, I mean abs.
And let's not forget the side mission with him on it, and his appearance in Peace Walker where he was S-rank in like every stat.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Uhhh yeah, the game wasn't incomplete as we got what we got. >_>
"We are just like Irregular Data. And that applies to you too, Ri CO. And as for you, Player... your job is to correct Irregular Data."TPP definitely was not complete. About as complete as it could have been given to borderline slave-like conditions Kojima was forced to work in, but it was not finished.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyDepends on whom you ask.
There's interviews out there with Kojima's former staff where they mention the game was more or less what he envisioned. Yes, even "Chapter 2" being a short, massive letdown that drives home a sense of loss and aimlessness, and Chapter 3 being nothing more than a cutscene to be witnessed the day no more nukes are available online - he deliberately wanted it like that. (the repeat missions, though... not too sure about those.) Kingdom of the Flies wasn't going to be ready for the main release of Phantom Pain and would've been added in as DLC, if he had the time.
What's really murky though is when the relationship with Konami went sour, and at exactly what point did it begin to affect production.
On the whole remake thing, seeing how the MGS Pachinko machine uses MGS 3 cutscenes and characters rendered in the Fox Engine, I am thinking a full on 3 remake was in production at some time and Konami just reused the assets for the machine.
Modeling everyone from 3 in the Fox Engine for just slots would have been an absurd waste of money.
You'd be surprised. Pachinko machines pull in an obscene amount of money.
Much as I hate to say it Konami is going to be making more cash than ever now that they've stopped making video games and moved into the gambling grey market.
Oh really when? That picture got me thinking...
...what was Ocelot's backup plan in the event that Venom Snake's right eye hadn't been irreparably damaged during the explosion? Would they have found another wounded soldier (albeit less capable of being as tough as Big Boss), or would they have poked out his right eye? What if his left eye had been hit?
Ocelot's precognition towards these things is frightening.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Maybe but MSG 3? They already have the assets from 5 as well as Solid and Raiden but they went with 3, the one game that had no existing assets in 5.
It's not like 3 sold the most or garnered the most attention and such.

Probably because Snake Eater is typically regarded as the best title in the series. It also helps that since it's the first game in the timeline, you don't even need to do much introduction or explanations, so a newbie won't be totally lost with the plot as they would if instead MGS 4's setting was used.
Seems really odd, as the pachinko demographics are not metal gear solid demographics and attempts to get people into the franchise would want to start with the game actually on store shelves at least.
Any actual MGS 3 fan would you know hate how bullets ricochet off Snake's skin during boss fights and such. You could pull that in 2 and maybe 4 but not 3.
Hideo Kojima on 'Logan' vs 'Metal Gear Solid' - 'Metal Gear' creator talks about the importance of building universes that never have to end, even when you kill off the hero
Isn't Konami losing money on Pachinkos? I know that the MGS Patchislot isn't very popular because the people who know of it would rather play the games, and the people who play Patchislot stuff don't know Metal Gear.
Well from what Super Bunny Hop said, it'll take almost an entire day to beat, and probably cost over the equivalent of $150 USD if your Pachislot skills are mediocre. Common sense would dictate that the average individual would immediately go "nope, fuck that shit, I ain't wasting a penny on that nonsense". But games like Candy Crush Saga and god knows how many awful Facebook P 2 W games exist and turned out to be massive cash cows, so it's not that hard to imagine some shmuck getting hooked.
Plus Japan is oddly used to paying more than we do for a lot of things. Best example would be how merely 3 episodes of a hot new anime on a DVD with little to nothing in the way of special features may cost around $40 USD. Or how Vocaloid soundtracks usually include 30 songs or less, whereas the average American would expect 50 or more.
Pretty sure it's the real Rose right up until the very end.
