Eh, I agree that it's not exactly what the trope is, but it gets enough of the point across for me to not vote to remove it. Would like some options though.
Fight smart, not fair.According to the entry on the page, the Joker comments in the next panel "I see, you were adressing ME". That's closer to the trope, could that panel perhaps be added?
At that moment it actually deliberately confuses the issue. If I was skimming across pages I would take it to mean it was the joke in the comic (which is prevalent enough) whereas it's something completely different. The God complex seems to be an important part of the trope and this is the opposite of that
I agree. Maybe we can cut the second panel and put the latter one that actually shows this trope together?
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. But that doesn't really make sense that way then. In my opinion at least.
Yes, or we could find a better picture, if it's possible.
Bump.
First key to interpreting a work: Things mean things.Once when I was looking for Joker pics, I found a version of the current pic that had that third panel attached...I'll see if I can find it again.
Here we go.
I'm okay with it.
Fight smart, not fair. Not really any better.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyIt is an improvement, I suppose.
Rhymes with "Protracted."It's still not good. It's really long and only the last panel really makes the point, and even then it's not done very well.
I'm not gonna be hurt if it doesn't get used...the more I think about it, the less I like it as an example.
Since the current isn't an example anyway, should we pull it?
The sad, REAL American dichotomyMotion to pull.
Image does not illustrate the trope: the Joker acts not as if he is being addressed (which would be this trope), but as if somebody behind him is being addressed.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Seconding Pull
Yeah, unwritten rule number one: follow all the unwritten procedures. - CamacanThirding.
So can we pull it then?
The sad, REAL American dichotomyAnyone have anything better, or should we leave this imageless for now?
The sad, REAL American dichotomyIt's fine with just a quote, I think.

The joker doesn't react as if he's the one being adressed, which is connected to this trope in some sense, but the reaction is just wrong.
