Sounds okay to me.
Rhymes with "Protracted."I actually always wondered why the trope wasn't called Diabolus ex Nihilo myself. Wholeheartedly support. Also, ex nihilo is totally Rule of Cool in addition to being accurate.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Diabolus ex Nihilo does seem just plain better.
You should probably have a plain english redirect on there for those of us who don't speak Latin.
Fight smart, not fair.^ Indeed. Will do.
I'll let things sit for about another day or so in case anyone wants to raise any major objections. If not, I'll probably go ahead and move everything over to the new page and cutlist the old one.
Made the new trope page, changed all the wicks I could find, and cutlisted Vacuus and its Laconic page. That should settle things.
Excellent. Ex nihilo makes a lot more sense.
You can't just Cut List them. The main pages has two hundreds of inbounds that will become deadlinks in such situation. The usual procedure is to create a redirect.
PS:I made a redirect in the laconic version as well, but I guess there is not harm cutlisting this one, since it has no wicks nor inbounds.

Yep as I understand it we don't keep defunct subpages after a rename. Also, added a note to Renamed Tropes.
I recently stumbled across the page in question again and vaguely remembered that this issue had been discussed before; I wasn't able to find the discussion itself (it must have slipped under the age cutoff), but I did stumble across an old crowner for the page.
That said, the title itself as it stands is incorrect; it uses the nominative declension of vacuus, which is wrong (should be vacuo, the ablative). A simple grammar fix would suffice; however, I would also like to point out that there is the preexisting term ex nihilo, which means the same thing and which I believe would better fit the trope.
