Oh ho ho, the boring-est politics of them all!

Anyway, I'll start off with today's news.

The Tory government intends to axe the Wheat Board which has a monopoly on wheat/barley sales.

Also, Harper has appointed three senators, two of which were MP candidates defeated in the election.

I think this thread pretty much covers Canadian politics.

The title refers to this year's election, but the thread has featured plenty of discussion about Canadian politics in general.

I suggest that you necro that thread instead - a name change can be requested if you feel it would help.

Or you could ask the people in that thread to migrate to this one, preferably bringing with them quotes of their own posts explaining the basics of Canada's current political climate.

Either way, it might be nicer to have just one thread on Canadian politics. That way, it's be easier to follow the discussion.

Not saying that you can't have this thread; it's just that having two threads on essentially the same topic isn't necessarily the most convenient choice available.

This thread's topic is broader, but I think it would be a better idea to change the topic of the other thread rather than abandon it entirely in favour of a new thread.

Oh, you apparently already went to the other thread. (I wrote this post before checking it.) OK.
