Well, Carrot did save them by not acting as a knight and fighting, but by begging.
Begging is like the least dignified manner in which to rescue your friends with words ever. I appreciate a pacifist approach, but he basically just made Nightmare Knight feel so sorry for him and perceive him as so pathetic that he wasn't worth the trouble or the time.
There are a hundred thousand ways to talk down this situation and he begged.
The Blog The ArtBut it worked. And attacking Nightmare Knight likely would've failed miserably.
I'm not asking him to attack Nightmare Knight because I know that's not his specialty. I only make mention of Carrot being an awful Knight because I believe he will find himself if he finds another vocation. I still think he has great potential as a Cleric and the sort of person who would be able to talk down the Knight some other way other than begging.
The Blog The ArtWhat's so wrong with him begging to get him to back down, though? Like, sure, it doesn't have much dignity to it, but so what? It's how he is and it worked.
It's said that it also takes courage to avoid combat. Make of that what you will.
Also, how come noone's noticed the fact that NK is letting Rosemaster have her fun, while that clearly wasn't the case for Noisy?
And finally, unrelated : The party will eventually encounter a Yoda Expy, parody or otherwise. (Kinda hoping for the latter.)
Coming soon: "Cucumber Quest: the Video Game"!
I am totally imagining a Mega Man style platformer based on Cucumber now.
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...It might also work as a Legend of Zelda-like game or a point and click adventure game.
or a paper mario game
I thought of it as an episodic, platforming RPG with a puzzle aspect. I was actually impressed by Cucu's use of logic to figure out how to get the "princess'" signature, complete with hand-on-chin pose. Thinking further back, seeing how they got Splashy out of the water would count too. That's why I think that puzzle-solving could be interesting.

Something like a more RPG-y Zelda?
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Yeah, something like that. With an EXP system similar to the original Paper Mario.
Course, now I got "Hmm, this Disaster Master reminds me of a puzzle." running through my head.
Peridot: Compulsive jailbird.
Love that face.

The Glitch is back, everyone! Run for your lives!
I was going to say, that's not Nightmare Knight.
I don't remember anything about a glitch, though. Refresh my memory?

This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...At the end of Chapter 2 and in the interlude the glitch that ended the chapter and took Cosmo.
I don't know about the glitch either and I read through the entire thread, but everyone was talking about it like it was a big deal as though there was a "glitchmaster" or something even though the comic indicated nothing of the sort? I sort of just read through it and took everyone's word on it.

The Blog The ArtNotice what one of the Stones look like? The power button on a computer.
Sure, you all nearly died because Nightmare Knight can crack reality itself and Carrot demonstrated that he is an awful knight and not much of a hero, we'll positive think through this!
