Man, when I was younger I was totally into spectator sports, probably because of my grandpa and my mom (they both enjoy shouting at the TV during games.)
Then the Minnesota Vikings lost a playoff game by 2, after the kicker missed the only field goal he missed all season. From like 30 yards.
I think I decided to just roll my eyes at my moms antics from then on. Much healthier than anguishing over something you have no ability to affect.
But wait, I had a point in here somewhere-ah yes, there it is. It really doesn't take much at all to gain a cursory knowledge of sports, at least enough to fake it. It only falls apart under really close scrutiny, and most people are pretending like they know more than they actually do anyways.
The best part is, when your team loses it's not that big a deal because you don't follow it that closely. When they win, you get to celebrate!
Same with cars, really. I find them sorta interesting sometimes, which is enough to get by except with my friend who supplies me with quite a bit of my car knowledge.
Look, you can't make me speak in a logical, coherent, intelligent bananna.I think the best thing about sports is that it's the only culture/past-time where you're fully expected to troll other people and it's all in good fun.
and that's how Equestria was made!Hehe, yeah, I go to school in Wisconsin but (as noted) came from Minnesota.
Two seasons ago when the Vikings beat the Packers twice, I had a field day with that. They were good sports about it though.
Except [REDACTED], but he's just a grumpy dude sometimes. (He claims he plays it up because it's such a great source of humor. And he's right, it is.)

Look, you can't make me speak in a logical, coherent, intelligent bananna.I'm Australian and completely uninterested in sports, but one of my teachers in TAFE absolutely loves cricket, and one of the subjects she teaches is pretty much learning how to assist people with finding info, and she says that we have to have a good general knowledge, which includes sports. I don't want to know anything about sports. All I know is that I like that my Dad and my brother go to soccer training (soccer being the one with the white/black ball, I don't know why it's called different things).
... I'm glad I wasn't born in Australia, then.
The United States itself is too sports-centric for my liking.
I mean, I like sports, I think most people like some sport of some sort. But I realize when people are talking about "sports", they aren't talking about what I like. Which is things such as Boardsports.
Genkidama for Japan, even if you don't have money, you can help![1]
It took me a while to realise you were talking about AFL. Football = Rugby Union, fuck league
I don't care for spectator sport either, but don’t mind playing anything and everything, even though I suck at it, many a work hour has been lost to indoor soccor with the boss.
