Can confirm: working sucks. Just got home and I'm already mindful that the weekend's going to be over in a little over 2 days and I'm back into it again.
Work - The scourge of the drinking class!
Yesterday wound up being busy too, but there's the lobby. Hoping to edit in the other two zones soon after some sleep.
this place needs me hereWell, it seems it's "all on", now! .
Is it cool with people writing for the lobby area of CAII if I put up a post with Wolf's reaction to being unceremoniously shoved rather than waiting for everyone else to react first?
Fine by me.
Aye, that makes sense. Tricky thing managing the action/reaction in such a big group.
Added a bit for the diner. Sorry for the slowness, it's been a hectic two weeks, and I've been a bit overoptimistic in my posting aims. My procrastinatory habits only let me kick into gear when I'm coming up on a deadline, so I figure it's better to set them sooner if they're going to be missed anyway.
this place needs me hereI've written something. Sent a PM to Chortleous to see if they're OK with me cutting in front before I post it in the thread.
EDIT: And heard back from Chortleous, so posted.
Here we have it, lobby folks, courtesy of two really angry dudes: some impromptu theatre.
Sorry he didn't get Wolf to stumble, but the result was spectacular, anyway.

And there's another post, because this all has happened pretty rapidly in-universe. Should probably let Will get one in now.
(fun fact but Kay is another character I considered and might bring in, depending)

Sorry for the wait, Masterofchaos, there's the basement light show, continued.
As for the topside group, I'll wait for ~Will De Regio to get a chance to add something, if they'd like.
Henry definitely didn't realize what he was sparking off up there. 😖
this place needs me hereI toyed with the idea of having Wolf try to do a fancy evade, mistime it and end up going sprawling when Henry gave him a gentle push... Considering how long the post wound up as it was, it's a bloody good thing I didn't
Hey Ryuhza, it might be a bit before I post cause I'm currently recovering from Covid so I'm gonna be resting. I'll try to get something out Saturday, hopefully.
Hey, no rush. Take all the time you need to feel well.
Fair enough. It would have been a funny escalation in the chronicles of improbable spills though
this place needs me hereFuck it, we ball. Dropped in that character I mentioned (and that Lancer was remembering) earlier, and not super far from the Necropolis if anyone wants to work that into their plans.
consider it Five-Second Foreshadowing
I'm better now but now I'm easily out of breath. ...Don't get covid guys.
Anyway posted as promised.
I'll try to post for the basement soon.
In the meantime, I was toying around with the Dragon's Dogma II character creation demo. These things are never perfect, and the hair selection is pretty lacking in adjustability here, but I do like how naturalistic the approach to faces is compared to most character creators, where everyone looks artificially symmetric and unblemished.
Here are some decent approximations of Henry, Connie, and Lucille (AKA Connie's sister who was there all along.)
That's all. Stop reading now.

this place needs me herebecause I'm naturally contrary, I read on and did click the link...
Cool pics.
I frequently use Heroforge to make "reasonable approximations" of characters - it's also got limitations on what you can do with hair style, certain clothes etc.
My youngest son uses Sims 4 to create images of his OCs. He's also coming along nicely using basic image editing software to draw them.
Huh huh, cool is one way to put it. 😬
Yeah, Hero Forge is really great as a robust tool that—big deal here—actually gets regular additions. It's especially good for creating non-human characters, since the models don't need to fit into a more rigid context as they do in a video game, they only need to be 3D printable. But oftentimes I'm not feeling the cartoony aesthetic, especially for making human-esque characters. Chunky hair, big hands, that kind of thing. They've at least done some fantastic work in vastly broadening what you can do with faces.
this place needs me hereWho else is before me in posting order for the Lobby in CA II?
Yeah, the hands and hair are annoying - it's because they have to make them thicker for printing purposes.
Given that they offer 3D model versions for use in virtual spaces like Tabletop Simulator, I'd like to see them offer the option to make the hair, hands etc more realistic for those who have no desire to have a 3D-printed copy.
The face options are getting good and they certainly do give frequent updates and additions.
Their non-human characters are fun and I used Heroforge to make up a model for my Vargr character in the Traveller campaign I play in.

I... think you might be up next? Blanking on anyone else.
just triple checked my list of people in the Lobby and who's posted and I can't think of anyone else, either.
Posted.
Wolf ain't letting that "Satan's Helpers" comment go any time soon

Have we determined what kind of flooring the lobby has? Preparing a post for Imes where that might be relevant to his train of thought. (Bonus points to anyone who can guess why.)

I've been wondering that, too, and assuming a smooth un-tiled surface.
I was assuming tiled, but as long as it gets slippery, it works for me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
this place needs me hereOkay, I'll assume tile.
Sorry for the wait Masterofchaos, I was holding out for more inspiration, but I guess it's taking a holiday. So much for lightbulbs.
Waiting on Will De Regio for both fountainside groups, though depending on who Bonnie speaks to, I could potentially write for Henry or Younger!Joseph separately.
Edit:
That also assumes Dragon's Dogma II doesn't take too much of my time
Speaking of, two more characters from the thread who will probably pop back up again soon. Rip I'm not so happy with, as I couldn't find a face with the right combination of eyes and jaw, and they just don't have the right facial hair. Ironic as the original DD character creator is what first helped me visualize him way back when.
Orti on the other hand turned out great. Really lucked out with the options.

Don't ever work, guys. x_x
