Yes indeed. Quite a few, I think; they congregate at around this time.

@ Loni Jay - Good thing. It's my first hour as a troper, and I wish to know that we are not alone.

Oh, you're from Brisbane. At least, I assume you meant Brisbane [up].

[up]Yeah I'm from Brisbane, and I just fixed the typo. Yourself?

Queensland. Not from Brisbane, but I've been there a lot. We've got a couple of New South Welshmen around, I know that much.

Cool. Hopefully they show. So what's good to do on here, besides obsessively reading the wiki?

Well, if you write, the writer's block is good to discuss your stuff. Or there's yackfest, which is pretty busy, and a general chat forum. Or you could Rp or play a forum game.

Oh, go to the "Introductions" thread that's stickied in yack Fest to meet some other tropers.

Thanks for the advice smile. I'll check some of those things out. So, are you more on the SF or F side of things? I'm more of a fantasy fan.

Yup, I'm more of a fantasy fan too. Terry Pratchett?

Getting around to it. Kinda hard to find in my library - it's snapped up like you wouldn't believe. Any recommendations on where to start with Discworld, or do I have to go from 1?

Nah, I wouldn't go from 1. They're pretty flexible in that respect, plus there are a number of settings/character herds with their own overarching canon.

A good place to start is Guards! Guards! or Reaperman.

I like apples.

By the way, something in strikethrough tags like up above or followed by a :P or tongue is usually not meant to be taken seriously.

Apples huh? Drat, my dastardly plan is foiled.

Yes, I know you were kidding. The internet is not a great place to convey tone of voice without excessive formatting. No offence taken. smile

No.

Currently, the only place I'm planning to go is around to the various states once I finish next year.

I've never been outside of the ACT/NSW region.

Wait, that's a lie. When I was one, I visited Brisbane.

A 2 second post.

Hails from WA: been to all the states except Tazzie.

We need to do something about the Americans - I mean, they actually believe us when we say we get to uni/school/work on a kangaroo.

And some of them think koalas glow orange in direct sunlight.

Bye again!

I've been to Sydney and Melbourne. Adelaide once, too.

I'd like to go to Supanova one year, but life gets in the way.
