Still Capcom. They're planning to release it on PS 3, PS 4, and PC.
VG 247 is speculating that we will get a Western release since the name has been trademarked in the US and Europe, but a rep for Capcom says that there are no plans to release it in the West. Although to be fair the IGN article clarifies the rep's wording as "Dragon's Dogma Online is not confirmed for the West" so there's still a chance.
Well, I am still not over the fact that Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD never got released over here, so if this doesn't get released here either, I will be unhappy.
Yeah the Wii U was sadly the only console in the US to get a Monster Hunter during the last generation. That wasn't cool.
So updates indicate that this will take place in a land that's not Gransys. I wonder if it's the same place Quina went to. Or maybe the one Valmiro went to. Supposedly it'll be as large as the original game, but updates will expand the game world to be up to three times larger and introduce new enemies.
I don't recall hearing of any MH game coming to Wii U, but that's because I wouldn't get a console just for one game. Well, if I had a Wii U I'd probably get Bayonetta 2 and that new Xenoblade as well, but that's not the point, and there's still gonna be more coming to PS 4 that I want :P
Also I'm in the UK, if that makes a difference.
On topic, I'd be totally on board with the world getting expanded as time goes on.
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate got a Wii U release.
I'd also forgotten that Capcom had released an online Monster Hunter in Japan on Xbox 360. Hopefully what they learned from that game will help with Dragon's Dogma Online.
They're talking about 4 classes at the moment. It's too early to speculate, but I'll do it anyway.
Fighter - This is probably going to be the same as the fighter from the original. Hunter - Strider maybe or ranger. Priest - Sorcerer or mage probably. Shield Sage - Going by the name, I guess this sounds like mystic knight.
Free to play and capcom.... That is a really bad combo.
Basically you will only be able to do something if you pay 200$.
.....does Capcom have a B 2 W MMO that I haven't heard about?
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117I just care that there's going to be an online Dragon's Dogma. This is something I've hoped for since the first game. The gameplay mechanics in the first feel really rewarding when you and your pawns manage to work together, and now that there are actually human players we can form actual battle tactics and strategies instead of just hoping the pawns do what we want them to.
When I first got this game, I was all in with the "it's an MMO without other actual people" thing, since in general other people can be assholes. But now, after Defiance, after Destiny, I think I'd be OK with heading into a fully populated Gransys.
Wonder if there'll be some way to import your pawn into the game. Like just your pawn, not using anyone else's.
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117Well, there's got to be enough people in this thread that we could play together, if you're worried about arseholes. Pretty sure I already have CEO on my friendslist because of Destiny. If this does come out in the UK, I will be all over it like a rash, so anyone else on PS 4 who's playing it, count me in.
The problem is 'there are no plans to release the game in the west' [1] so that kills that.
I reject your reality and substitute my own.
Can't say I am happy it went mmo.
... I'm very disappointed they don't plan to release it in the west. Was it because the first game didn't sell well in the west? Sigh... I loved the first game. I played the HELL out of it and Dark Arisen. I mean, I can understand if they want to just see how it does in Japan first before releasing it elsewhere, but if they NEVER release it here just because they think it's not worth the effort....just, uhg... It's like Phantasy Star Online 2 all over again.
Am I going to have to import it and learn Japanese?
MM Os are inherently difficult to port to the west typically. It's not that Dragons Dogma didn't sell well, it's just that our MMO market is in an odd spot right now, and it's vastly more expensive than your average game.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans. The west never really gets Japanese MMO, Final Fantasy is the exception really. Heck look at Dragon Quest X and Dragonball Online (I think that name is correct).
Well, shit.
are there Assassins/Magick Archers in Dragon’s Dogma Online
is the game being released in the West
does the game take place in the mainland of Gransys
are the characters from Dragon’s Dogma going to show up in Dragon’s Dogma Online
is the game on Xbox360/Xbox One
is the beta out yet

I am unhappy.

leave it to capcom to mess up one of the only two good things they've done in the last few years (the other being asura's wrath which is really a cyberconnect2 game so does it even count).
i wasn't interested in this from it being an mmo to begin with, but the fact that it's not coming to the west anyway is kind of a downer.
it's unfortunate because this is like the only wrpg game i've ever really been much interested in or been able to get into.
Still based only on our initial snatch of information. Things can change.
this place needs me hereFirst Phantasy Star Online 2 and now this?
Can we GET one of these action RPG MMO games over here already?
I know tumblr is hardly the most credible source, but I've been following that guy for some time, and he does seem to be able to get access to apparently credible information one way or another. I dunno if he's actually in contact with Capcom or just compiles data from elsewhere though.
Is importing a possibility? Because PS 4 isn't region locked. I mean, of course there's the language barrier, but I'm sure dedicated fans can find their way around that.
Doesn't sound like an MMO to me, sounds more like a normal online co-op, or something along the lines of Destiny.
Also, no plans to release in the west? Fucksake, Capcom.
Capcom are still the publisher, right?
