I've just read the first seven chapters of A New Dawn.
I wonder if we'll be seeing any of the other characters that show up in this story in the series, assuming they don't all die. I'd especially like to see Skelly.
And Count Vidian's design description is very unusual compared to previous cyborg villains.
1. After watching the latest preview clip (the one about the Wookies), i'm really starting to worry about what i'm going to see in regards to Ezra.
2. Is it wrong that i like the idea of R2-D2 having a feud with Chopper?
3. A thought just occurred to me; unlike TCW, we really don't know what's gonna become of our main characters this time, which leaves the possibilities wide open. For you see, in TCW, the only main characters whose fates were up in the air were Ahsoka, Ventress and Captain Rex (and from what i understand, the latter two both had EU books to confirm what happened to them), everyone else; well, let's not kid ourselves, any Star Wars fan knows what happened to them. Going to TCW, we all knew that Anakin, Padme, Obi-Wan, Yoda, Mace, Jar-Jar, C-3P0 and R2-D2 were all gonna survive the end of the series, since Episodes III-VI were the stories that decided their fates. As a result, to some Star Wars fans, the danger that these characters faced was little more than padding that would most likely amount to nothing in the long run. With the Ghost crew, they're all pretty much original characters, who knows what's gonna be their fate.
The other good starting point is that the main characters themselves are a bonafide rag tag bunch of misfits, offering ample room to develop their personal motivations to enter the fight. The Jedi and the clones in TCW (and in the prequels, for that matter) were somewhat lacking in that respect. Both groups were heavily indoctrinated from a very early age to serve their respective organizations, so that no conscious motive as to why they'd do so could be explored. Here at least, everyone could have their own reasons for joining the struggle... including the Imperial Agent and maybe even the Inquisitor, should the show give them the light of day.
Hello there, people. I've just finished watching the fifth season, and, well... wow.
The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the groundGod, Ahsoka's last scene leaving was crazy emotional, wasn't it? (And that arc produced so many post Order 66 headcanons for Ahsoka. So. Many.)
Crazy emotional doesn't even begin to describe it. I nearly cried there and then.
The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the groundJust finished A New Dawn today.
Is it possible Captain Sloane is going to be a villain in later episodes for Rebels? She was one of the only major characters originating in that book to be neither killed nor disabled. If not, I'm thinking she'll be appear in another story.
What day is the premier of Rebels, again?
October 3.
I thought the movie was in September?
Never heard about a movie.
The premier is a 90-minute movie on Disney Channel, before moving to Disney XD for the series proper.
For other helpful hints, it comes out the same day as the premiere of ''Legend of Korra': Book 4 and the U.S./Canadian release of Super Smash Bros. for 3DS.
The weekend of October 3rd is definitely going to be a big one.
gasp! Korra vs Star Wars: WHICH WILL YOU WATCH???
(I realize now this is kinda pointless considering I'm posting this in the Star Wars thread, but eh)
You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.Well, that series is airing online only now, so you can do both.
Ah touche
You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.Damn, I might be away that weekend.
Well, I was just at the local mall today, and while perusing the Barnes and Nobles book store, i came across two books that had to do with "Star Wars: Rebels". One of them i had little to no problem with, but the other one got me thinking. It mentioned how Ezra is, it mentioned how Kanaan is with the others and it mentioned Sabine's relationship with the other Ghost Crew. While all of that may be good in it's own way, it does make me a little bit nervous about what's to come in this series.
I just know, in the pit of my stomach, that Ezra's gonna be given more of a hard time in this show than anyone else. Say what you want about the necessity of that, but for me, it's gonna be a difficult ride. I can't even just not watch it, because part of me really wants to see this show.
A while back, someone once said that i have a problem with character development in the shows that i like, and i'm starting to think that they may be right. Don't get me wrong, I do see the necessity of Character development, as it keeps the characters from becoming cardboard cutouts. But the problem i have has to do with how my mind perceives the development, namely when it is shown in negative circumstances. For example, when a character says or does something embarrassing, my mind will either A.) dwell on it, no matter what the final outcome of the story is, B.) Corrupt the memory of the moment into something worse or C.) All of the above. SW:R has all the qualities of a show that would do this kind of thing to me, i can feel it.
...So you're one of those people that holds something that happened 3 seasons ago against a character... even after its been resolved

sadly yes
Srebak, you keep making it sound like your mind is a completely independent entity that keeps enforcing arbitrary opinions that you don't agree with on you, and that you can't change your mind about something even when you know your feeling on it is baseless. Kind of a scary state to exist in, really.
... Maybe there are two people in there!
I'm starting to think that it's more of a matter of over-stimulation and the inability to get something i don't like out of my head. No matter what i do, whenever i see or hear something that unsettles me somehow, i can never get it out of my head. Sometimes, they'll even come back to haunt me years later.
Also, i'm starting to feel kind of overwhelmed with what's coming lately. Next month is when my Birthday rolls around, along with Halloween, but it's also when SW:R premieres and when the final book of Legend of Korra comes out. Not to mention the new episodes of Ultimate Spider-Man, Nick's TMNT and the Fox shows that are coming out this time of year. There's just too much new, and with my kind of curiosity, i won't be able to pass up any of it, which will no doubt distract me from my Birthday mood and Halloween mood. I can't even hold any of this off until November or December, for obvious reasons.
So basically you're crazy sensitive to second hand embarrassment and dread it.
I have faith that they will. After all, they're bringing Greg Weisman aboard, and he's known for compelling villains and having more than just one group of heroes versus one group of villains. Combine that with the fact that they have a lot of the same crew members as TCW and I'm really optimistic.
