[up][up] I actually liked The Clone Wars movie the first time I saw it and was a bit surprised by how much a lot of people didn't like it. I will say that it does have it's flaws. The movie gave a bad first impression Ahsoka as a character and Jabba having a son was just... weird. It also took time for me to get used to the narrator at the beginning of each episode.

Still, it got me to watch the series.

I actually liked how Ahsoka was annoying. An over-confident teenager is relatable, and she has matured definitely over the years.

It's a movie that seemed like a shameless cash-in, and it probably was. Some of the backlash came from the character designs and thinking it was going to be directed entirely towards kids. It had some odd animation quirks (as well as the first few seasons of the show) alongside the rubbery designs and a peculiar story-arc (everything involving Ziro and Padme in particular, you can tell that was meant to be a separate episode entirely), but it certainly had some good merits. The action set-pieces were creative and dynamic, the visuals were impressive (though knowing it was elaborated from the TV show helps, it isn't quite feature-quality otherwise), there was some adult violence and while Ahsoka had some obnoxious qualities they left her open to character development to iron those out.

I'll admit I watched the first few seasons fairly extensively, but haven't kept up afterwards. One of my favorite episodes is "Lair of Grievous" with Kit Fisto. It actually had a story to tell about an obsession with power and compromising your ethics, in combination with one of the more impressive lightsaber duels (Fisto vs. Grievous at the end).

Ahsoka...I didn't really find her all that annoying. She's brash and a bit overconfident, yes, but she also recognizes that she has a lot to learn, and wants to learn.

Ziro's voice was a very odd choice. Not so much the higher pitch, or the fact that he's speaking English, but the Cajun accent. That's a very very weird choice.

One of my biggest grievances with the show is that Dooku looks entirely wrong. It's a problem that carries over from the original miniseries. But other characters have altered appearances (Ventress is quite different in the new show), so why they stuck with the one that bears almost no resemblance to Christopher Lee I have no idea.

Ahsoka annoyed me during the first season so but as the series progressed she's tones down. She still isn't one of my favorite characters but I'm interested to see what her fate will be and what her big moment in season 5 will be in the Onderon arc or maybe another set of episodes.

I didn't watch the TCW movie until after I finished season 3. I actually kind of like it.

Dooku's head does look a bit to much like a knife in TCW.

[up] They mention in one of the bonus features on the movie that it's supposed to look like that. :P

You know what the best part of the series is, for me? That it opens up all of these new characters for kids. I love that characters like Kit Fisto and Plo Koon are getting their day to shine, and that a new generation of Star Wars fans accepts these characters as being just as important as the main characters.

Hey I'm going to Star Wars Celebration 6. I'll bring back as much Clone Wars news as I can. I know they are showing the first episode of season 5 there and James Arnold Taylor will be there as well.

Also I heard that they changed the premier episode of season 5 to a different episode. Any one know why?

[up] All they said was that the episode order of Season 5 will occasionally change before the premier.

[up] And speaking of episode arcs, which Season 5 arc are you guys most looking forward to? For me, it's the Shadow Conspiracy arc(aka the Maul storyline).

[up]To be quite honest, I'm actually looking forward to all of it. The Mandalore stuff looks amazing (SIDIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)grin and Onderon has the potential to be groundbreaking for Ahsoka's character arc. Plus Padmé's arc has Embo in it... cool

Any story arc with Maul is game to me. But I am patently waiting for Cad Bane to come back. He is the most Badass.

For me, it's probably Darth Maul's storyline, though I'm looking forward to seeing the Mandalore arc too. Also, whichever arc that has Fives as a major character (I heard that he will be returning).

[up] Actually, both the Mandalore arc and Maul arc have been combined. It's not just the Season 5 leaks that say this. In the recent Comic-Con clip, Bo-Katan actually mentions Maul.

[up]The comments for that clip are mostly people who don't realize that the John Williams score is just a placeholder, which shows; the music's all chopped up and at times doesn't fit.

Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the Great

[up][up] Thinking about it, maybe the "with our combined strength" line may actually be referencing Deathwatch, and not Savage (which was my original interperetation). Maybe it also explains the two different groups of Mandalorians too (those who work for Maul, and those who don't want him with Deathwatch)? I didn't read much of the leak, so I don't know if this is true or not.

I'm looking most forward to the Mando arc and which ever arc Fives will be a major part of.

[up][up] Well, according to the episode leaks, it's exactly as you describe.

[up] I think Fives will be in the episode arc that Matt Michnovetz(the writer of the Umbaran arc) is writing. You know, the one with the Clone Commando?

You know, it's funny. They've talked about Thorn, Fives, and this new Commando character, but they haven't mentioned Rex. We haven't even seen him in the Season 5 trailer.

wild mass guess Captain Rex will die in the 100th episode. wild mass guess

They've been teasing that Season Five is when some of the characters that were made for the show will start to meet their fates. And the 100th episode of anything is usually Big with a capital B.

I doubt they will kill off Rex in the middle of the season, that doesn't seem like that great of a decision, especially with the marketing around Rex. Fives I can't say anything about...

[up] Fives could still die in Season 5 for all we know. He could just be the main character of his own arc and that's it.

I'm actually kind of afraid for Embo though.

Also, how far are you in Season 1, Bad Wolf?

I don't have Season 1, yet. It was out of stock when I ordered it, and then a week later, Amazon cancelled my order. I found a different seller, though, so it should be here in a couple weeks.

I was going to get it anyway, so I may as well do it right.

word to the wise, season one has a lot of early installment weirdness. At least for me it was less... appealing than the other seasons. Not that it's bad, it, well, it's the first installment so of course it will have early installment weirdness.

Enjoy it all the same though. Who am I to tell you what to like and not like?
