Eh I say don’t be down on yourself for not keeping an arbitrary timeline, life happens and the game will still be there when you get to it. Look at it this way: you now have literally a full year less of a wait for whatever’s next than what everybody else has to wait :p

@32ndfreeze yeah don't worry about it as it took me till December of last year to beat XBC 2 and I had that game since launch.

Hell it took me plural years to get around to Torna, I think only the leadup to XC 3 is what got me to actually start it

Alright. Chapter 2 done.

Killed the boss before I could do a chain attack. Probably because I was fighting every monster and doing all the quests right away.

Also.....HOW COULD THEY END THE CHAPTER THERE?! THAT'S DOWNRIGHT CRUEL!!!!

I haven't gotten around to it yet either. I keep meaning too, but I already have a backlog. And then the Thousand-Year Door remake is coming out in a month or so...

I myself only just did Future Redeemed earlier in the month, after I heard the artbook came out. I found it impressive that they managed to successfully condense everything about Xenoblade 3 (strengths and weaknesses) into a brisk but smooth 40 hours or so experience.

It also got me in the mood to go back to the main game and finish up the remaining unique monsters, and man did I sure miss FR's map and enemypedia.

And now I'm doing Chapter 3. Only just reached the Liberator's Base.

Also I can't remember: is Rex still played by the same voice actor? Cause it'd be hilarious.

Also, that moment where you switch to Shulk, and then suddenly realize this is your first time playing as Shulk since you never played the first game.

I'm not gonna lie. It was real weird for me when I realized that. Funny how I didn't have it with Melia.

Rex got a VA change between 2 and this.

I figured as much. I shouldn't be shocked. There was that issue with the Old VA's ability to emote in some scenes.

Plus he's so much older now, it probably had to happen.

Al Weaver had issues playing Rex was because:

• most of the English cast were new to voice acting.
• they started at the beginning, so the worst of the voice acting is at the start of the game. (Weaver gets better as the game goes on, he's still doesn't scream as impactfully as Adam Housen does as Shulk in 1)
• having to match the Japanese mouth flaps.

I think the main reason for the VA change for Rex in English (his Japanese VA is the same) is to make sure you know Rex is older and to make sure his voice matches his body.

Also in Japanese VA’s are more well known for doing this. Grown men voicing little boys/teens/etc. is just as common as having girls voice them.

Still playing chapter 3.

Have been doing a lot of side quests.

I've only really managed to upgrade Matthew so far, since I'm doing everyone one at a time (which may not be the best move).

So he's the only one with all three accessory slots, and all three Arts slots for Fusion.

He's also the first one to get his second set of Affinity Slots open (though A also has that).

I'm going to see about finding more stuff for everyone else soon enough, but first I'm going on with the plot. I'm heading to the place where that one team was wiped out and where Matthew thinks Na'el was.

Hoping to learn why she's evil now, too.

Small suggestion: do make sure to upgrade Nikol and Glimmer before midgame, even if it's at the expense of one or two others. You're liable to run into a progress blocker otherwise.

Personally, I would just get everyone's Master arts ready at the very least. I just like having more options for my characters.

One minor thing I liked about Future Redeemed (in contrast to all the things I loved about it) is that they gave Glimmer, Panacea, and Linka new VAs, rather than just having them voiced by their mothers, which is what the Japanese version did. It just feels too on the nose to me, having the same person voice a parent and their child.

I was surprised that Glimmer wasn't Mythra/Pyra/Pneuma's VA, since her actress sounds just like her.

One more thing I've taken note of: what's up with Glimmer knowing what the City is? The Ouroboros trio in the main game (and all the people in the colonies) had never heard of a city.

The circumstances of the world were different between games. We know that both Agnus and Keves do update their curriculum, so it's likely that the books included details about the third faction.

The first City was likely known about as its destruction was within the past generation of soldiers and likely easily seen and told about.

The City in the main game has kept itself hidden for thousands of years. Mobius knows about it, but can't find it, so its kept quiet to keep the war going.

By the way, do we know what Term Glimmer and Nikol are even in?

I couldn't make out their markings, but Glimmer's words implies she's pretty late term, possibly very close to homecoming, but I'm not sure.

Their last. Thus why it’s such a big deal for Glimmer that she manages to make it to Homecoming.

I thought so. They both look a little younger than that to be honest, but then again, some of the main crew didn't look like they were 19 or twenty.

Like, I'd have pegged Mio as a bit younger (which is ironic she's the's the only one explicitly in her final term for most of the story), and Sena doesn't seem like she's nearly in her twenties either (I'd actually assume she's in her late eighth term and is the youngest of the group, but I have no proof of that)

Sena's just short. She never really struck me as being that much younger than anyone else.

Going back to the VA's I wonder if Skye is going to reprises P&M given what happened to her.
