cheaper than i expected.
was fully expecting it to go as high as £40.
I wasn't- They'd never be able to sell downloadable Wii games for that much.
I sure said that!never really looked at the wii games on nintendos eshop
but i have seen on the 3ds shop nintendos preference for only rarely selling lower than a physical copy
Xenoblade and Metroid Prime trilogy are probably the only ones worth the price and the data capacity, though- They're both rare games that'll cost an arm and a leg to get at, whereas Mario Galaxy 2 and Kirby's Return to Dreamland and Punch-Out W!! are all easier to find physical editions of.
I sure said that!Well, but Return to Dreamland costs 50 bucks.
EDIT: Physically, anyways.

Xenoblade's price took a temporary tumble after 3D released. What surprised me is that it recovered afterward.
I've got physical versions of both MPT and Xenoblade, but I'm glad it's gotten even easier for people to play them.
do we know what xcx's price is? it'd be easier for me to decide whether to get it digitally (and thus, with xbc) or physically if i knew whether the discount would actually make it cheaper than physical (considering ive found physical copies of £40 games at £20 i wouldnt really hold my breath, but then again that game was out for at least a month before i bought it.)
Amazon had it listed at $60USD. It's going to be whatever the usual price is for games in your territory, unless you spring for a LE(assuming there is one).
You can apparantly control the Wii U-port with the gamepad too if you want to, blessedly, I didn't know that was a thing.
For Wii games sold on the eShop, it is a thing.
Annoyingly, for physical Wii games running in Wii Mode, it is not. Ergo, if I rebought Xenoblade, I could play it on my Gamepad, but if I decide to make good purchasing decisions, not buy the game a third time over and instead try to use my disc copy, I'd have to use a Wiimote and Classic Controller Pro to get something equivalent.
Moon◊I guess it's good business. Either someone has to pay for the game, or a controller to replace the one they sold (I never sell controllers, but given how often I see people talking about trade and save deals, it must be a lucrative business).
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.aw damn. if i buy xenoblade i dont have enough space for chronicles x.
woah. apparantly i can use an eternal harddrive to increase wii u storage capacity.
good thing i already have one of those about with a 100gig on it.

Watch out, the Wii U's going to take the whole drive for itself. Make sure there's nothing there you want.
and once you've set it up, do all wii u downloads go straight to the storage device, rather than the space available on the console itself?
I think you can choose the destination, and move stuff back and forth.
This is why I go for physical media when I can, at least with Nintendo's tiny harddrives. Prime Trilogy was a very special exception.
I sure said that!yeah considering for the price of about 1 physical copy (ignoring amazons random, rather large discounts) i can get about 4 digital games in total, theres little reason to go for physical here.
the whole discount for chronicles x is a bonus and i wouldnt consider digital xcx otherwise.
I would consider it if I didn't plan on getting the special edition if it (hopefully) comes to australia as well as europe.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome Robokay! harddrive set up and xenoblade bought. time to start downloading.
it'll be a bit of a shame to not have hd textures but being able to play in bed at full speed with no audio glitches is gonna be a nice change.
aaaand...error.
this...does not bode well for xcx.
haha whelp. after the 6th failure i can safely say, yes, that is the prospect of getting xcx digitally flying out of the window.
seriously, if it can be so hard to get a working download of a 3.3gb game, 20+ is out of the question. it would never work.

audio glitches?
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobTarsen, try running the download overnight. The only game I ever had problems downloading was WWHD. That one took a few tries but eventually it caught and went through properly.
emulation drawback.
9th try was overnight. still failed.
Weird.
All right, this is the point where I recommend calling the helpdesk. Does it make any progress at all? or nada?
