I would laugh, but the sheer hypocrisy of this is mind blowing.

So he is going to "rape" them, hoping the misery of it will cause them to be revolted when they look at other men?
Disgusting.

A guy called dvorak is tired. Tired of humanity not wanting to change to improve itself. Quite the sad tale.

“When they would ejaculate, they would be getting rid of the evil thoughts in their mind,” he allegedly told detectives.

It almost sounds like the relaxation method where someone tries to take all their negative emotional and imagine channelling them out of their body.

However in reality it just seems he is in lots of denial about his sexuality and is abusing a position of power.

Using that logic can't they just masturbate?

Well yes hence the second sentence about abuse, also associating removal negative emotions with a sexual act could add complications for the person attempting it.

Has anybody here seen Dan Savage's old Youth Pastor Watch? People who become youth pastors are CREEPY. OK, I guess that's not exactly fair, but they are arrested for having sex with children so frequently that no youth pastor (or former youth pastor) should receive the benefit of the doubt.

@invisgoth Plenty of teachers get arrested for the same thing, does that make all teachers creepy? No.

[up][up] That's very unfair, yes. I find it very doubtful that a large enough proportion of youth pastors are sex offenders for it to be reasonable to treat all of them as if they are.

Well, you never hear about the youth pastors that go around not molesting people, now do you? It doesn't make very good news.

Uh... no? Whenever you see a case about a teacher arrested for sexual abuse, or a doctor, do you then assume that clearly most teachers or doctors are sex offenders?

I think its more along the lines that any position where you have prolonged contact with kids is a potential worry and that private areas where that happens (Christian camps being one of them as they are not run by the state) tend to have a lack of guidlines that are quite as stringent as public ones (where the government will get the blame).

Its also the case that with teachers there is a great deal more of them than there are Pastor's, and as such there is room for people who can "slip through the net", whereas with pastors there are fewer of them but more apparent perverts. That and the hypocrisy, a teacher who does this kind of thing is a monsterous abuser of trust, whereas with a pastor they are a monsterous abuser of trust who believes they have divine backing for it.

Indeed, it pisses me off that anyone around children is suspect for no reason other than they prefer to work with children. Especially men.

Even more so because the reasoning given is invariably "if even one child is saved from abuse, all the suspicion is worth it." Bullshit. That kind of reasoning always assumes the endless paranoia and baseless assumptions aren't doing their own damage. It's getting to the point where it's very difficult to commmunicate comfortably and effectively with children because you don't want to draw the attention of people who think the worst of any given interaction.
