Thinking unpicturable.
Also, pick your favorite quote, the other two should go to the quotes page.
Fight smart, not fair.EDIT: Oh, apparently Literal Cliff Hanger exists. never mind.

Adam West's Batman TV show had a cliffhanger ending literally every second episode. I don't remember if it actually had a "to be continued" caption, but if it did, we would have many possible shots of either Batman or Robin about to get killed by a death trap with that caption across the screen.
(Might have to be a screencap, though, since GIS isn't giving me anything so far.)
Perhaps not picturable.
The Aquabats one, I say.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.Batman never really said "to be continued", but it did have a lot of "Tune in next time, Same Bat-time, Same Bat-Channel!" Like this◊ one.

An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.I vote no pic.
That's the sort of thing I was thinking of.
Not awesome visually, but I think it's as clear an illustration of this trope as we're likely to find. (Well, that or one of the other cliffhanger endings from the show.)
I could've sworn there was at least one series in which there was a cliffhanger, both literally and figuratively; a car was hanging off the side of a cliff with the words TO BE CONTINUED on the screen. Maybe I'm just hallucinating it. *
I was going to suggest something like that. A Literal Cliff Hanger with a big 'CONTINUE IN THE NEXT EPISODE'.
Along the same lines as , could we just grab a pic of, say, a car going off a cliff and put "TUNE IN NEXT TIME/WEEK!" over the pic?
That being said, the Batman example a few posts up is about the best media example we've got.

Surely, if the Batman example isn't a viable one, we can find an image from a comic book or something. All we need is a cliffhanger image and the words "to be continued" or some variation of the sort right?
GIS gave me this◊, I think it could work.
This implies, quite correctly, that my mind is dark and damp and full of tiny translucent fish.Maybe a two-frame, with one frame showing a dangerous situation and the other being black with "TO BE CONTINUED" displayed in white?
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyGood idea

I dunno. The pic could stand to have the TO BE CONTINUED a bit more prominent.
I have a message from another time...I've got an idea, but I'd need time at home for research and tweakery and I don't know how much I'll have tonight.

Good example, but I think a more simple pic would be better for the page.
No. No. Four times no. This trope does not need order of the stick to be pictured.
This implies, quite correctly, that my mind is dark and damp and full of tiny translucent fish.So Order of the Stick is somehow not valid for picturing tropes because you say so?
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyAP, you really need to get over this anti-OOTS bias...it may be on a lot of pages, but as long as it's a good source of potential pics for tropes, it's gonna keep being suggested.

Yes, of course. My opinion is always the unquestionable and objective truth.
To clarify: Order Of The Stick neatly lampshades a large variety of tropes, making it a go-to source for images demonstrating abstract and/or complicated concepts which would otherwise have to be imageless. Therefore, OOTS images are rightfully abundant on tvtropes. Since tvtropes is meant to be entertaining, I (and various other people, it seems) think variety is important enough to keep in mind when picking images. For that reason, I think OOTS images should be discriminated against when picking images for simpler and easier-to-demonstrate tropes like this one. I also fail to see how the OOTS suggestion demonstrates the trope better than my comic book panel or a potential two-picture arrangement.
This implies, quite correctly, that my mind is dark and damp and full of tiny translucent fish.
Got anything good?
