And before this scene she'd spent none of that time having lunch with a woman who thinks she's alluring, so it didn't really come up.

Hasn't for most of the characters, really. Spender's had loads more screen time, and all we've got is that he's "not single." From a tweet.

Doubt it's like that. Cody's gay, RJ's non-binary. Paranatural hardly has a problem with LGBT representation.

And remember when Zarei was set up as all imposing and aloof?

Oh, no, I didn't mean to imply that Day was turning Zarei gay somehow or something. Just that going from "aloof hardass" to "squee!" over the course of a 30-second conversation with a person who has already demonstrated love powers seems a bit suspicious to me. It has nothing to do with sexual orientation, just with the specifics of Zarei's crushing super hard on Day all of a sudden.

Good point. Then again, Day's adorable. Though she did say people have a tendency to fall in love with her, back at the train, presumably not directly linked to her Cupid arrows.

I thought she was concerned that she'd hit Max instead of the train. That's how I read it, anyway.

I like it when the spirits the spectral's posses are more grounded than them, it's always entertaining to me to see the contrast between humans and the supposed dead.

I don't see any aloof hardasses here. Do you?

Spirits aren't dead, ghosts are.

Well still, the idea is that it really helps portray the living as... well... lively compared to their counterparts who are ambiguously alive.

I dunno, "Did I keep you waiting?" "Yes." is pretty aloof hardass-y. It goes rapidly downhill from there, though.

Day is not the only thing that gets Dr. Zarei to be flustered (see also the following page).

Zarei strikes me as a person who tries hard to look calm and cool all the time. But when she gets surprised, she starts to crack. People like Day and Patchworm, who can easily see through her faced, are her worst enemy.

Look to her introduction, mate. And then we found out she's from Mayview and thus doomed to dorkhood.

This page is so cute. Zarei is amazing. I have new favourite characters now, move over Max, there are new sheriffs in town.

Oh man, I forgot we have a thread for this. I'm loving these last few pages, tbh. Zarei was already my favorite character, but now I like her even more.
