Well, I suppose we could. I keep a supply of messages in a note file, myself. No need for an official one, really.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyI think the warning could use a slight tweak. It only mentions not nattering in the main page, but there are other subpages where natter should be discouraged. For example, I just had to use it for someone on a YMMV page who thought it was a place to just argue about an example. (All you have to do is list both options on a subjective trope.)
Everyone Has An Important Job To DoThis is probably a bad idea, but how about a system that auto-bans, or at least flags as problematic, anyone who uses This Troper anywhere outside of allowed namespaces?
Yeah, that's a problem.
How about automatically sending the natter-fy PM to people who put This Troper in main or whatever instead? No harm done, and s/he might learn something.
As long as it doesn't do it for existing text and only to added text. Otherwise it would probably be more annoying then helpful.
Thanks, how'd I miss that...
Anyways, could we have a form message for a PM about adding YMMVs to the main page, for quick copy-pasting?
