I seriously need to track down the L Ns, it isn't even funny anymore. How hard can it be? Edit:

"Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost."^I think they're all available online. I have volumes 4, 5 and 6 from Barnes and Noble.
I think I'm going to rewatch the seasons before I read 'em, though. I need Jun and Ami's voices fresh in my mind.
It's been fun.Oh to live in America. I'll have to check online I think. I've seen it in Forbidden Planet but they're awful at stocking things properly.
I rewatch it a little too much I think; whenever it's snowy I have a knee jerk reaction to marathon at least the first season.
"Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost."They're all available through Yen Press' website.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Or less legal means, you might say there's a torrent of options available if pressed. Just sayin', if you really want to read the books in some form or another, it's comparatively easier than other series.
I don't mind the kid, he's kinda cute and the author seemed to be aware he'd be uneasy with fans, so he's generally kept away from things when Holo and Lawrence need their alone time to yell at each other affectionately.
"No will to break."I know this is supposed to be a travel-based story, but does any character outside the two main characters show up in a later arc or chapter?
Three of the volumes are called Side Colors and break away from Holo and Lawrence to show the lives of various characters that they've met. Also, the novel that immediately follows the one the anime ended on introduces a third character, Cole, who travels with Holo and Lawrence. I think they also continue to chase Eve for a few volumes so she crops up now and then.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Yep. They hunt her down in the next couple books and participate in yet another incident. Or 8.
Eve's backstory is really depressing. If you've read it, you can see exactly why she's got an incredibly self-interested mindset and mostly does the bigger jobs for the thrill to make herself feel something other than depression.
"No will to break."So I've finally got my hands on Volume 3 (along with 4 and 6). I've only read the first chapter, which the entire first episode of Season 2 covers, but I'm hesitant to continue. I'm loving every second I spend reading it but the end of the chapter already stabbed my heart repeatedly and I just know that that scene is going to tear it to pieces.
I love this so much but I know that great pain awaits me this volume and the great healing that is the start of Volume 5 won't be for a quite a while yet (since my library ordered it but hasn't got it in yet).
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I will say that the books get kind of old after a while. Without the voice actors to give it some spice (ha), at least.
It's been fun.I feel like I'm the only person who hears the voice actors in my head.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! It's a problem with the translation, I think. They don't always capture the nuances of their conversations.
It's been fun. What are you talking about? Going back to the anime, the dub seemed pretty spot on in all regards in comparison to the subs when I first watched Season 2. In the LNs, they should likewise be spot on due to the anime's quality as an adaption.
I seem to recall you saying you disliked how they made Holo talk in English despite that being the only way to convey her archaic speech patterns. If I'm right and this is about that then there really isn't anything I can say.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Nah, in this case I'm talking about the books. Something's missing from the flavor of their conversations, and I think it's the added layer of flavor that hearing the Japanese gave them for me. There really isn't a way to translate Holo's speech pattern without it sounding silly in English, as far as I know.
It's been fun.I really don't see what's so silly about Holo's speech patterns. It's not like she's speaking Ye Olde Butchered English, she's just rarely using contractions (which I believe Lawrence also does) and using archaic words (meaning words that are perfectly acceptable in modern English but just aren't used much such as "vexing").
Of course, this is really going to be an "agree to disagree" thing since it's entirely opinionated.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Right, right. My point is that the difference between her dialect in Japanese and what everybody else speaks is so pronounced, due to the way dialects in Japanese work, that it feels like her dialogue is losing flavor in English even when that's the best way to render her speech.
It doesn't help that I really, really love her dialect.
It's been fun.Ah, I see. Yeah, I can't blame you for that. Only thing you can do is learn Japanese and read the LNs that way.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! That seems like too much effort.
I barely understand the economics in English. Trying to understand it in Japanese would slay me.
It's been fun.I'm pretty sure we have. I really wish there was something to discuss in this thread.
Maybe there will be once I get to Volume 4 and read a story that wasn't in the anime.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I'm up to volume 12 - Discounting the side stories which i'm ignoring for wallet related reasons.
I made it to volume 9 before I got a little overloaded. I'll probably try to keep going in a while.
It's been fun.
Novel spoilers ho!
From what i've read of the novels - Which are all translated up to i think volume 15 on Amazon - Holo and Lawrence spend the next year or so after the ending of the second season avoiding the subject because Holo decided to be stubborn about the whole May-December Romance thing, even though they both know it's merely a formality since they both really really want to start a proper relationship.
It gets to the point where Holo and Lawrence treat Col like an adopted son even though he's just temporarily apprenticed to Lawrence and they still aren't doing anything other than flirt heavily.
