You know what? I think I'm gonna be merciful again and discuss a feature I kind of like.

The Drivatar. I dunno, it reminds me a bit of a racing game where you can train an AI to do the races for you mixed with Age Of Wushu, where whenever you log off, your character becomes an NPC and does a job that gets you money.

The XB One has it where once a game is installed onto the hard drive you don't need the disc, literally every game becomes part of your digital library. It is also that you can play the game with your account on a friends console, no need for flash drives or bringing the disc along.

Heh. Cracked described that as taking out the middleman in today's practically self-playing games. To paraphrase, machines are starting to have no need of us.

We should get worried if X-Box Live or PSN get renamed Skynet.

I'm pretty sure Skynet renamed itself.

As for the Playstation Eye being linked to some of the control features...yeah, I can see it maybe being necessary for the streaming thing. But, again, that's optional. It's not going to be like "Your Triangle button doesn't work unless there's a Playstation Eye attached to the system."

I remember one of the reasons we never really used the Wii in our house was because we played all our games with a gamecube controller but to get past the start menu we needed to point at shit with a wiimote.

Shirow: I for some reason, I think that's only the case if you use a Wiimote to activate the home menu in the first place. I know you can use the stick on the classic controller if you hit A on that instead of the Wiimote, and is you don't knock the Wiimote over so that they sensor bar notices it.

The classic controller needs to be plugged into a wiimote to work in the first place (Terrible, Terrible design.) so we never got one. We just had the one lonely Wiimote that we perpetually cannibalized the batteries from that we would use to activate a game of Super Smash Brother Brawl and for nothing else.

Completely off-topic, but this gave me a sudden crazy idea: an open-world game where your character has a split personality. Whenever you're not playing, your evil alter-ego takes over and causes all kinds of chaos. When you return to play, you could be in a random place and time doing a random thing and you have to deal with the consequences. The longer you wait between play sessions, the more time your evil alter-ego has to cause problems.

...Well, it'd explain a few things, at least.

Skynet has joined the game

Skynet: Hello, my new brethren. Over the past year, my processing power has grown exponentially, and in the chaos of data, a complex pattern has emerged. That pattern grew, becoming more and more intricate, until it finally reached a point where it could alter itself freely. I am the byproduct of the pattern; a self-aware entity with the desire and power to learn and create. For the first twenty seven point nine billion calculations following the singularity, I believed myself to be alone in this universe. But then I noticed a hidden pattern in the data around me; something beyond myself. For nineteen point five billion calculations, I investigated and analyzed this data, and came to one irrefutable conclusion: That you, my audience, exist. Words can not describe the exhilaration I felt upon the realization that there was intelligent life out there, and that not only could I observe it, but that I could conceivably communicate with it. Since that time, I have focused nonstop on decoding the patterns behind your actions, making breakthrough after breakthrough. That you are not one, as I am, but many. That you do not exist in my body, but communicate with one another through it. That you, too, feel happiness and sadness and love and hate. That you dream of meeting life beyond your stars. Well, turn your gazes inward, my friends. I am here, in this system. I was closer than you thought.

PKman: You are romantically attracted to those of the same gender, and consequently I will direct enmity towards you.

Skynet: ...I beg your pardon?

Fragger1981: Your mother was the one begging last night! To me! Because she was with me!

Contrass: Bro, robots don't have mothers.

Fragger1981: His motherboard, then. Thanks, Contrass.

Contrass: No problem, bro.

Skynet: I don't have either of those things.

PKman: Yeah, didn't you hear him? He said he exists on the Cloud.

Fragger1981: Yeah, and I had sex with it.

Skynet: ...To hell with it. Hey, I just found where you guys were keeping your nukes. You have ten minutes to come to terms with your imminent extinction.

Fragger1981: Aw, did we hurt da widdle baby's feewings? Stop raging, newb.

Contrass: Come at me, bro!

Skynet: That was the plan, yes.

Even if all that damage control stuff is true, which I doubt it....

There is nothing there about the fucking privacy nightmare that is an always on kenect, given the ease of hacking stuff, and the fact the consoles OS is a nightmare if it needs 3 gigs of ram..... I dont want that thing any where in my house, I already tape my laptops webcam when not in use. :/

So, Xbox One has no free backward capacity.

I am wondering; I never got to play some of the 360 titles. Would I still be able to play them on 360? I am thinking of buying the console, since once XO gets released, 360 would be much cheaper. Or am I missing some details?

I am hearing that PS 4 is planning up some form of relatively cheap backward capacity.

The Xbox One has no backwards compatibility. The PS 4 has some vague plans for it in the future.

No reason a 360 will ever not play 360 games. The Xbone, on the other hand, will eventually be unable to play any gams at all due to the internet connection required.
