Damn nice. And it looks like the Orochi Pilot suit is available if you already own the Kaidan DLC. I do really hope they include some more Sidestories stuff for the zone before it's all over, because the southern half of the zone is just as empty as the north was when Issue 9 launched.

Press release:

Oslo, Norway – May 6th, 2015 – The Secret World® has just gotten a major content and story update with Issue #11: Reaping the Whirlwind. The game's deep, dark and unique story has been told from launch and through eleven content updates, and now the first season finale is here!

The players fight their way through the Orochi tower, challenge eternal beings, grasp the ultimate power and will finally reap the consequences of their choices. Everything so far has been building up to this story climax, but it is of course not the end – it is merely the end of the beginning.

Issue #11: Reaping the Whirlwind offers hours of new content as the players can explore twenty-one unique levels of the Orochi tower in Tokyo, as they challenge the world's largest corporation and its powerful CEO. The players will be rewarded with an Ultimate Ability based on their choices in the main story since launch. They also get a taste of what is to come, and learn that defying eternal beings comes at a heavy price.

Worried, it looks like the Lego game didn't take off like expected and Funcom is facing financial problems.

Well, as a healer I'm sad. Since AEGIS shields are here to stay, leech healing won't be viable in any new content. You heal based on damage you do and AEGIS shields reduce your damage greatly, so no healing done.

Then they finally fixed the Good Bad Bug that made blood healing's Exquisite Corpse spell reduce all damage by 50%. Now it only reduces damage up to it's barrier amount, like it was intended to, so instead of blocking thousands of damage it only blocks a few hundred. Blood healing basically doesn't exist without EC so...blood healing is dead, and badly nerfing healtanking to boot.

So...fist heal or die for now on.

[up]I think aegis is due a rework. It is too over-bloated and doesn't work quite as it was advertised. But the same can be said about he skill wheel in some instances, like Blood you mentioned. The moment devs made them not stack, Blood was destined to fail.

I was gifted this game a while ago, and while at the time I was too busy with the new FFXIV expansion to do much I have dabbled in it a bit. Now my FF sub is on hold for a while and I may do a deep dive before too long.

So, question: I took chaos magic and fists as my starting weapons, and I had an idea to make a sort of mobility tank with self-regen ability. I'm still not entirely sure I understand the skill tree though, maybe someone could point me at a build to work toward?

Skill points in your weapons and talismans are effectively your character's "hard level". They provide you with higher stats and allow you to equip better gear.

Tanking has pretty high requirements in the game, and unfortunately there is a very correct way to do it down the road—block, block, and block. It's just the way the game's internal math functions: block lets you absorb the most damage while penetration, which beats blocking, lets you deal the most.

Early on, it obviously won't matter too much. Make sure you get a few pieces of gear with high HP on it, those are the tank pieces. You'll want to use Chaos' Escalation and Intensity because those skills generate high threat. There is a small sliver of a non-weapon ability tree called Turbulence, you'll want Provoke (taunt) and Agitation (threat gen) from there.

The main thing I recommend is picking your weapons and sticking with them. It'll probably be more important to have a solid solo build than to experiment too much with different weapons or different roles. I spread myself very thin on Solomon Island which made everything more difficult, and your AP rewards start to radically increase come Egypt and beyond, making branching out easier.

As a solo build goes, I recommend using a mixture of HP and healing talismans. Take a couple of self-healing passives like Lick Your Wounds or Blade's Immortal Spirit, those are effected by your healing stat.

IIRC, I allready picked up Provoke (whether or not it was wise to do so when I'm still on the first zone with the zombies); the identically-named skill in FFXIV is the "every tank must cross-class this" ability. I off-class a Warrior there, which is a berserker soak tank with self-heal and the ability to put out very nice DPS when not in tank stance. Threat gen in that game is a very active endeavor, moreso I'm told than in World Of Warcraft, and the onus to hold it is on the tank unless the party is doing things that are particularly stupid. So that's my base of comparison. Having good solo ability will probably matter a fair bit; the friend that got me the game did express an interest in playing but he's well known for bouncing randomly between games so getting him to commit to one for more than a week or so is an effort. ^.^;

Do characters tend to have multiple gear sets/multiple skill builds (can you do that?) for different purposes? I.E. tanks in FF may have one gear set for DPS and one for survival.

1. Focus on 2 weapon skills initially. Max them first. Put skill points into talismans only as upgrades show up.

2. Read through skills and choose what to build toward. Have a build in mind. It is ok to cherry pick passives from other weapon trees.

3. While "levelling", all builds are survivability builds. Chaos means you have "oh $h!t" buttons and cc, fists means you can heal up and have access to best regen passives, all weapons can do dps.

4. Starting gear is made so you can't go wrong. It has all stats and is a bit over budget for its level. Tank gear has more hp, healing power on heal gear, attack power on dps gear; pick the flavour you like. It all changes at ql10(later on that).

5. Of the secondary stats, hit is the king. Especially for tanks so cc doesn't miss and you can steadily build aggro. Glyph it until you stop missing. Use hit passives as a gap closer.

6. Don't be afraid to fail. If you feel like you run yourself into a wall with your build, you can redo some quests and change things around. You will get all skills and abilities eventually. No need to reroll.

7. Take your time, don't rush to the "endgame". TSW has the best quests and story I have seen in an mmo.

P.S. Generally, when starting % are worse than proc passives.
