Hey, how about giving the people of Pyros the power to not only create fires, but also to convert flames into another form of energy/draw their energy away, thus enabling them to snuff out an entire campfire with just a thought and
Or maybe they store the absorbed energy as fat?

No... Gives them too much potential for damage. Fire plays an important part in this world, as it hasn't advanced past the steam engine yet, really.
