go to an office which is open one hour out of the month. GOOD FUCKING LUCK WITH THAT.
Fuck this shit.
Just fuck it.
EDIT: After a month of time to cool off, I will offer this: Flapjackamacka, you have failed to provide a shred of proof that there is enough voter-fraud to justify disenfranchising thousands of people. You've merely repeated your anecdote as if it is the gospel truth and your interpretation of what happened is 100% definitely why it happened.
And you still have yet to dispute the claim that somehow requiring an ID which people do not possess can be easily obtained. The ID still requires a birth certificate, which still must be paid for if someone does not have it on hand. That is a poll tax.
Furthermore, the change in requirement for how long one has resided at a location before they may vote kept thousands of graduating, IE moving out, college students from voting, despite being able to do so.

Untitled Power Rangers StoryIt takes 5 minutes, you get your card a week later. And I registered mine in frickin Philly. I dont see any buddy getting beat up by poll workers or people getting told to pay a fine to vote. Voting requirement laws were ruled on before
Also, I seriously hope the DOJ does go after Walker though, the man committed the crime of RAPE
good night guys

Honestly, why should a voting ID be any different?
There's another topic for that.
Go to that.
because I am to fucking enraged to go over every single detail of why it's such a preposterously bad and blatantly slanted idea.
Van, blank your post right now. This is not the time to write posts which can be taken as calls to violence.
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryWe have a thread about Voter ID laws or the like? I haven't seen it. Sounds interesting, though I can't seem to find it. Mind linking me?

Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryThanks!
GM of AGOG S4: Frontiers RP; Sub-GM of TABA, SOTR, & UUA RPsno problem.
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryThat is strictly unnecessary.
"Can ye fathom the ocean, dark and deep, where the mighty waves and the grandeur sweep?"Anyone that votes for a neo-con needs their heads checked IMO.
Untitled Power Rangers StoryWell, I don't think that Walker is a neoconservative in the conventional sense. Foreign policy isn't a State function, after all. But while I agree that voting Republican is a terrible idea, violence is not relevant or desirable.
"Can ye fathom the ocean, dark and deep, where the mighty waves and the grandeur sweep?"So, what would be the effects of re-electing (is that the right term to use here?) Walker? Does this still affect his term, like... is his term renewed or something?
If the Democratic candidate was elected, how may have that panned out?
Ok, let's just call him a corporatist. He's still scum of the earth and a deserves nothing but the worst.
Untitled Power Rangers StoryWalker just keeps his job.
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FrySo, is the final tally in for all four senate recalls? Last I heard, the Dems didn't gain anything at all. That's really gotta hurt, though I guess Obama's camp can use it as a rallying cry against Citizen's United. And there's that thing in Montana before the Supreme Court.
I'm not sure there's anything about this outcome that can be spun positively by the Democrats in the wider political field. I say this and am referring to the non-base crowd. It's easy to convince the Democratic base of the evils of things like Citizens United. Not so much the rest of the country.
"Can ye fathom the ocean, dark and deep, where the mighty waves and the grandeur sweep?"Because most people are idiots the thing "well gosh if the government says its fine who am I to question" to which I say "WAKE UP! The people say what's right and wrong."
Also if you can replace the word "homosexual" with say "christain" and the law makes you sick, THE LAW IS WRONG. (that part is for anyone in a state whee they are trying of have banned gay marriage).
Untitled Power Rangers StoryYes, yes, the electorate is ignorant and self-defeating, we know van, you're preaching to the choir here. Though we already have a thread for gay marriage, and I can't think of any active posters who are opposed to it (and are willing to admit it).
"Can ye fathom the ocean, dark and deep, where the mighty waves and the grandeur sweep?"I don't want to take away anything from accusations of false information given to voters — which are serious and despicable and all-too-often aligned with Republicans — but the margin of victory in the vote was large enough that it probably didn't make any difference in the long run. Also, it's worth noting that turnout in the race was significantly up from the 2010 gubernatorial election.
Say what you want about how Citizens United made it an unfair playing field, or how some Republicans were trying dirty tricks, and while I might agree with you, I think it has to be noted that the recall efforts were just a really bad idea overall.
The Republicans won three of the Senate races. One is still too close to call, with the republican up 53%-47% with 75% of the votes counted. (It seems that they've turned in for the night.)

First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win. That's pretty depressing but meh. On the plus side, it sends the message that "Don't try and recall people constantly" which I'm mostly in favor of.
It's worth noting that there were also reports that union officials were bussing people in from Michigan to vote against Walker, so there are plenty of accusations of foul play to go around.

Some of the accusations are true and some are false.
@Flap: the degree to which you gladly quote republican spun "facts" that anyone who's ever taken a course in economic theory would laugh at is amazing.
So? If the kiddies want to vote so bad go to a registration office. heh, thats what I did. And even if some hours were shortened that means kids who did get there licenses still would be able to register.
It's not like we have black panthers stationed at polling booths in major cities and then not having the DOJ indict them. No wait
"Registration requires a Photo ID, as well as a proof of residence such as a utility bill, so guess what, no sudden influx of chicago voters."
This november, work for a polling station my friend.
