The crowner was open for 13 days and the crowner was unanimous.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickOkay, so we're hard splitting. Are we voting on renaming? Because if we are, I vote no preemptively.
Well, we need to rename at least one of them if we're hard splitting, so no isn't really a useful vote.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickSo which way do we split this, anyway?
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Stuck up a crowner for that.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickThe Video Game use is the one for which it is the established term, AFAIK, both among gamers and in the industry. Having the names any other way would be problematic.
Yeah they use the current trope name or Action Button.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Context-Sensitive Button as described should stay named as such.
Find a new name for the Video Game variation. Sorry that I was unclear before.
Context-Sensitive Button immediately makes me think of the scene early in Conkers Bad Fur Day where they discuss the context-sensitive nature of the action button in those exact words, so it's definitely got video game connotations for me. I do think that Action Button is a better name for the video game version, though, so I'd vote for Action Button as the main article name and Context-Sensitive Button as a redirect.
For the other definition, I like the Plot-Sensitive Button suggestion from last page.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.Bump. It's been over a month. Video Game trope it is, by the looks of it.
Calling it.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickProbably want to put Action Button as a redirect to the video game one.
I like Plot-Sensitive Button for the non-videogame trope.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!That is the clearest title.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI still like Do Anything Button.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. That one could refer to Action Buttons too though... chances of misuse are high.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Yeah, that one is too vague and could be too many tropes. Plot-Sensitive Button is the clearest.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickScrew it. I support that name as well.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Sounds like the video game trope.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI assume the trope we are talking about is Speed Racer's car that has a button that fires off whatever gadget he happens to need at that moment, rather then the gadget that fired off the last time he pressed the button.
Yes, that is the trope we're talking about.
We're trying to give it a name that differentiates it something from a button in a video game that does multiple different things depending on the context of the situation.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickButton Does What The Plot Demands?
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. That's really long.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. Dick
Crown Description:
What would be the best way to fix the page?
...but which direction? And is only seven total votes on the leading option actually enough to call, or should we wait?
