Mezzo: Wait, what the hell? You're supposed to be dead!

-Mezzo immediately recalls Cerberus-

Pianis: I'm supposed to be dead? Is that why it took you so long to get here?

Brie: Wait, what? Mezzo, why are you in Team Flare now?

Mezzo: -to Brie- Do I look like I'm wearing red?

-Siren sprays a bit of water on Pianis, dousing the flames-

Pianis: So why did you attack me then?

Mezzo: Well sorry, I'm in hostile territory! And what are you even doing here?

Siren: <You know, can we save the family reunion for later? We really need to get out of here while we can.>

Brie: I agree wholeheartedly!

-Diane picks up the vial of magic stuff, now that Skye is unable to hold it. Alyssa, meanwhile, picks up Skye.-

Diane: Still got a few drops left. Probably won't be any use trying to find an antidote or whatever, considering it seems magically-based, but we can probably find a use for it.

Alyssa: <Maybe we could try to fix Vierr with it? Might get him to stop being all mopey about being a squid.>

Spirit: ~We can see to that.~

-All three of them squeak at Spirit's sudden appearance, and Skye promptly transforms back in Alyssa's arms.-

Skye: ...

Alyssa: <So weird...>

-Spirit disappears as quickly as he came, taking the vial with him.-

Diane: Ugh, why can't those creeps just stick to harassing Vierr? He's used to it already.

Skye: ...Alyssa please don't let go you're too comfortable

-Siren takes off her Lapras disguise-

-the siblings do so-

-and Siren immediately flies down the hall-

-and breaks through the nearest window-

Siren: <Easy, we come out the same way we come in.>

Brie: That. Was. Awesome.

Fletcha: -lights up- <Really, you'd let me borrow one of those? That'd be awesome! I mean you don't have to and maybe that was more of a question and not an offer...but I would really appreciate it if you did.>

-He offers one of his bracelets to Fletcha-

-He searches through his bag and comes out with a Pokeball-

<I'm not sure how this situation works with Pokeballs, but if you could release me after this that would be great.>

-He allows himself to be caught by the Pokeball-

-Crow and Fishy have been training here for a good while, though the latter is still a Mudkip-

-Crow looks up and notices that it's starting to get dark-

Honchcrow: <Okay, I think that's enough for today.>

Fishy: <I-it is? I'm not ready to evolve yet, though.>

Honchcrow: <We can always pick it up tomorrow and do the challenge later.>

Fishy: <But... mm...>

<...You mind if I continue on my own?>

Honchcrow: <Oh? Sure. Just come back when you're done.>

-He flies off and Fishy continues training on his own-

-After an hour, he seems to be getting to his limit-

Fishy: <Mm... I don't know if I'll manage to get this tonight.>

???: <Nor will you ever.>

Fishy: <...Wh-what? Who said that?>

-The source of the voice, a Manectric in what appears to be a construction-themed supervillain outfit appears-

???: <I! Am the Bridge Dropper!>

<I come at pivotal moments in people's personal sagas to end their stories before they can reach a satisying conclusion!>

Fishy: <Wh-what?>

Bridge Dropper: <It means I'm going to eat you for shock value.>

Fishy: <U-uh...>

???: <Hey! If anyone's going to do something stupid for drama, it's going to be me!>

<...Well, or dad, but the point stands!>

Fishy: <Huh?>

-And who comes into view but a certain Delta Ampharos-

<Chirin? You're going to eat me?>

Chirin: <Yes! I'm here to->

<...Wait, I'm here to save you, not eat you!>

Fishy: <Oh, phew.>

Bridge Dropper: <What is this? You dare challenge me in the matter of sudden->

-Bridge Dropper is then struck by a Take Down from Chirin-

Bridge Dropper: <Rrgh, this isn't over, I can still->

-He is then knocked into the water by a Hydro Pump-

Chirin: <...Huh, he wasn't so tough.>

Fishy: <Y-yeah, he went down pretty easily.>

<...Wait, I used a Hydro Pump! That means->

-And with that, Fishy begins to glow-

-His head fin splits in two, his tail fin grows out larger, and he becomes able to support himself with two legs-

-When the light fades, he has evolved from Mudkip to Swampert-

Fishy: <Huh... Didn't think I'd skip Marshtomp...>

Chirin: <Well, then it'd just be more work to get you past that.>

Fishy: <True...>

<Though... you saved me?>

Chirin: <Yeah, I guess even if I was mad at you before for stuff, I guess we get along better now and I wouldn't really want you to go like that.>

<...Not that I think you would have needed my help, given how easily that guy got beaten.>

Fishy: <W-well, still. I'm glad you came.>

Chirin: <Thanks.>

<I guess, you wanna do some more together or head back?>

Fishy: <...Let's head back, I'm kind of tired.>

-And so they head back to the Mauville Center-

Honchcrow: <Honestly, it's easier if you figure out how to get out of them on your own, but->

-He pecks Fletcha's ball to release him from it-

Fletcha: <Well it was my first time in a Pokeball, sorry. Is there a certain trick for letting yourself out or something?>

Mezzo: So what in the world is going on? Why were you two in there? Why does the news think you're dead?

Pianis: It's a long story.

Mezzo: I've got time.

Pianis: Okay, so...

-Pianis gives Mezzo a short recap of what transpired while he was held captive-

Mezzo: Wait, I saw that guy on the screen. He tried to kill us with a laser. And you were playing video games with him the whole time?

Pianis: Hey, it was a really neat game. I think you'd like it.

Mezzo: Uh... the priest guy gave him a good talking-to. I don't know what happened after that. So probably?

Brie: Oh, good. He was nice, even if he did use birds.

Pianis: What about you? Why did it take you so long to come and rescue us?

Mezzo: Actually we were rescuing this Kyurem girl... only that guy, Odin, did something really weird to her. It looked like Kyurem and Reshiram fused together somehow, and it could use Fire and Ice attacks.

Pianis: ...I wish I could've seen that.

Mezzo: Yeah, I thought you might.

Sootopolis, last night

Honchcrow: <Okay, I'll make a note of that.>

<For now, I should probably get preparing for a trip to Mauville, so we'll depart.>

-He and Chariot give a wave and leave-

Brie: ...Your legendaries fuse? Mine just sort of fight.

Mezzo: Sort of. Basically, the story goes that there was one dragon and it split into two because of the two heroes... that one seems a lot more likely to have some truth behind it now.
