"You have me at a bit of a disadvantage," Volkner chuckled, even as Luxray chewed at its Sitrus Berry. "My Luxray has taken some punishment and used up most of its allotted moves (Roar/Fire Fang/Thunderbolt). Meanwhile, your Flareon has access to its full movepool and is at full health."

"I'm not getting confident yet," Rex replied. "The match isn't over yet."

"Too true. Luxray, Rain Dance!"

A small rainstorm kicked up in the gym, Rex groaning in response.

"I knew it was too good to be true..."

<Suggestions?> Rascal asked, lowering himself to the ground as the Luxray closed in.

"Oh, erm...hit him with Return!"

Obediently, the Flareon sprinted forwards, rushing to give the other Pokemon a headbutt. The jolt from the Thunderbolt was not unexpected, but hurt all the same, Rascal's eyes twitching in some pain. Despite that fact, he pressed on with his attack, managing to knock the Luxray back slightly.

"Return?" Volkner asked. "So, that would make this your starter, huh?" He chuckled to himself, Luxray offering a small smile of his own. "This really is a great match."

"Yeah..." Rex found himself agreeing. "It is."

"Encouraging," Hunter mutters to himself, his fingers tightening around Cesar's feathers. The Staraptor makes a reassuring cooing sound.

"Okay, so, should we follow Mix?" Ashley asks, starting to walk in that direction.

I'm back! Would someone mind giving me a recap, please?

Hunter, Ashley, and their birds follow Every. While Ashley still seems slightly shell-shocked, Hunter appears to be functioning normally and is thinking hard.

"There's that little area in the middle of the cave that has nothing in it but some rocks... I bet there's a Tear down there. Or maybe one hidden behind that thing on the wall."

Hex is creepy and is bargaining with the people in Hearthome for Tears, Hunter and Ashley have had their first taste of the weirdness.

Celestic

Let's try there, then. -enters the cave-

Mix: -runs around-

Also, Forte got his AU memories back.

Celestic Town

Pianis: Anyone see anything?

Shadow: <Trying to focus. Not finding much here.>

Hunter immediately jumps down into the pit, ignoring the stairs. Shivering slightly, he pulls a silver and yellow jacket out of his bag and pulls it on, then starts looking around at the bottom of the pit for signs of Tears.

Ashley goes around to the back of the cave and looks at the pictures of the Lake Trio.

We also got saved from a Spiritomb ambush.

Thresher: -Puts a feeler in the smoothie- <I know right?>

-Starts drinking-

No, I'm not doing anything to help you.

Steven: -is doing typical Steven things, like being non-responsive for hours on end, even though he's paying close attention to everything-

-Every is looking around for Tears. You can't hide a glowing orb in a dark cave, right?-

"Careful, Mix, you don't want to break it," Ashley murmurs. "It's really old."

"I'll tell you some facts I learned on my trips here, but I don't actually remember any," Hunter calls from the pit. He starts pushing the rocks around, then notices several dips in the ground. Curious, he drops one rock in one. Quickly counting, he notices that the number of dips matches up with the number of rocks.

"Hey, Every! Are there usually puzzles guarding these things?"

Hex: -frowns under his mask, but forces it into a smile- That is a rather rash decision to be making, isn't it? After all... does not your unfortunately girlfriend warrant a thought?

The Castle Hallways

Armortomb #1: -dimwittedly frantic about the prisoner missing, is searching through a broom closet for a mop-

Armortomb #2: -is fetching a towel and blue toilet cleaner from the bathroom-

Mix: <Okay. :3> -nuzzles Ashley-

"Okay. I found a pretty lame one, but you said to think video games."

Hunter finishes moving the rocks around, releasing Marvin to help him. When all the rocks are in place, a blue orb appears just above the ground.

"Cool! ... What do I do with it?"

Ashley smiles and pats Mix.

"Look closely, just don't hurt it."

Hunter tentatively reaches out a hand and touches it. It disappears.

"Weird."

Marvin helps him climb up out of the pit, then he recalls the Bibarel as Cesar flies up.

"So, what are the chances of more than one of those things being in here?"

Ashley is still squinting at the back wall, looking for some sort of puzzle or something.
