-he hands Lucius back the phone-

Breeze: <You know, it's probably not healthy to let this many ghosts possess you.>

Ever: Breeze, how many times exactly have you puppeteered my comatose body?

Lucius takes his Holo Caster back from Ever with a glare.

Lucius: Okay, in no particular order: ha ha; that sounds like a horrifying experience; stop looking at me like that.

Maul: ~As if you're any different.~

Lucius: Hang on, I... you don't even know what I'm referring to!

Maul: ~Psychic.~

Lucius: That's not an answer.

Maul: ~Neither are you.~

Lucius: I... what?

Maul: ~Checkmate.~

Ever: It's not that bad. Free will is kind of overrated sometimes.

Breeze: <He's had a long year.>

-Ever notices the call dropping, and sweatdrops-

Ever: Whoops. Sorry about that.

Lucius: I dunno, I quite like the idea of free will if the alternative is letting Legendaries dictate my entire move. I'd trust pretty much anyone over them. Hell, I'd trust Maul over them, and I don't trust Maul with anything.

Maul: ~Why thank you.~

Lucius: You're welcome.

He looks down at his Holo Caster and sees the caller ID.

Lucius: ...Oh crap.

He tries to call the number back as soon as possible.

-The caller happens to answer relatively quickly.-

Mx. Amarin: Oh, phew, you did answer. For a moment I thought you'd gotten kidnapped again or something. Give a guy a heart attack, why don't you. Uh, hi!

Snowpoint Center

Ever: Well, obviously not legendaries. Mostly ghosts.

Breeze: <And Breeze!>

Ever: Nope.

-Ever falls silent to let Herbert make the call-

Lucius breathes a sigh of relief as he answers the call.

Lucius: Hi. Sorry about that, I, uh... I got kinda distracted.

Bishop: <So distracted that you didn't message anyone on your contact list for a month.>

Lucius: ...Um, yeah, that distracted. Which was kind of a dick move, I'll admit. So, erm... sorry. Again. Anyway, how have you been?

Maul looks over at Breeze.

Maul: ~You're missing out.~

Snowpoint Center

Breeze: <Oh, I pilot him whenever he's asleep. ^_^>

Snowpoint City

Mx. Amarin: Nonono it's fine! I just missed you, is all. I've been doing... okay, ish, still struggling with the whole name thing but other than that, pretty good. Finally caught that Croagunk that's been causing problems.

-There's a pause.-

Mx. Amarin: Uh, where have you been, out of curiosity?

Lucius: Erm... in my room. I have an excuse, I promise.

Bishop: <I don't know if Overwatch is an excuse.>

Maul: ~Nor is m-~

Lucius: Moving on! Glad to hear you caught that Croagunk. Have you, uh, figured out whether it can undo whatever it did in the first place?

Maul looks over at Breeze.

Maul: ~Do it during the day and make your trainer think they're narcoleptic. It's great fun.~

Bishop: <Also morally iffy.>

Maul: ~But fun.~

Snowpoint Center

Mx. Amarin: I, uh, I see. I don't blame you, Overwatch is addictive. Anyway, well... I've decided I don't want this particular thing undone. Mew-Blitz splitting me into two people in the first place was an accident, and I guess I feel... whole again? It's confusing and I'm confusing but other than that I'm gonna make sure he doesn't cause any more trouble.

-They pause again-

Mx. Amarin: Um, gimme a sec.

-There's the sound of wind, and then suddenly a tumbling sound and a yelp of pain just outside of Lucius's room exactly when the call cuts out.-

Breeze: <I tried that once!>

Ever: ...You did?

Breeze: <Turns out I'm not actually that good at anything but telekinesis.>

-The Electivire is struck by the toxic orb, becoming badly poisoned-

Electivire: "Ngh... Don't think you'll win this..."

Volkner: "Use Brick Break!"

-The Electivire rushes forth at Erebus in order to try and chop him-

Maul: ~Practice makes perfect.~

Lucius blinks at his Holo Caster.

Lucius: Um... okay?

He looks out of the window to try and discern the source of the noise.

Snowpoint City

-Outside is none other than Mx. Amarin themselves, standing up and brushing snow off their clothes-

Mx. Amarin: Dammit, I was hoping that would get me inside. Give me a moment!

-They hobble off, and then a minute or two later, they can be heard knocking on Lucius's door-

Breeze: <Okay then!>

-Breeze stares at Ever with intense focus-

-Ever's nose starts bleeding-

Breeze: <Ow.>

Ever: (mildly) Breeze, please remember that I need those to live.

Maul: ~Nostrils are overrated.~

Lucius blinks at the sight outside his window, and opens the door upon the knocking several minutes later.

Lucius: Er, hi. You okay there?

Snowpoint Center

Ever: No, no, the veins in my head. Those are important.

-he waves to Mx. Amarin-

Snowpoint Center

-Mx. Amarin gives a cheerful smile, briefly waving to Ever-

Mx. Amarin: I'm intact, so yeah!

-They pat themself down, frowning-

Mx. Amarin: ...I think I'm missing a couple clothes underneath, though. Exactly one of my socks got left behind, for one. Only one. The left one.

-They shake their head, and smile again-

Mx. Amarin: But hey, I've still got a coat and pants! And shoes! That's what matters. Nothing was lost that you could have seen in the first place.

Lucius blinks again, goes rather red, then starts looking around his room - which, coincidentally, looks like an explosion in a launderette.

Lucius: Uh, right. Do you need a spare sock? I, erm, probably have one lying around. I dunno if it's a left sock, though. Not that it really matters. No real difference, huh?

Ever: Not in my brain, not really.

Snowpoint Center

-They shake their head-

Mx. Amarin: Nah, don't worry about it. Those aren't a big deal. Just gotta practice this whole thing more. You know the windy note thing I do sometimes? I tried that, except... well, this time I was the note. And it mostly worked!

-In Lucius's searching, he may find a single sock that he has never once worn before.-

Lucius looks rather nonplussed, picking up the random sock without giving it a second glance.

Lucius: ...Huh. Well, I guess it can't be any more unreliable than Maulportation.

Maul: ~60% of the time, it works every time.~

Lucius: That doesn't make any sense.

Maul: ~Neither does your face.~

Lucius: I... actually don't have a comeback for that.

Ever: Huh, never thought of that. Hey, Breeze, wanna perform some microsurgeries?

Breeze: <Do I ever!>
