You have to make peace with that fact, that we live a pretty violent lifestyle. I can attract most of the worst of it towards myself, but I can't be everywhere. It's the only healthy way of dealing with it, because the other option I've seen people do is... not pretty to say the least.

-She reaches to a shelf and grabs 2 cases.-

Tex: Are you sure you don't want to keep these?

Old Lady: Don't worry about it!

-She gives one to Tex and one to Jimmy. Tex's egg is white and tan, with something resembling a green bow tie. Jimmy's is dark grey with red and black markings.-

Jimmy: Well...um, thanks, ma'am.

They turn around and walk back to the center.

-The girl is awake now, but hasn't moved - she appears to really really enjoy the warmth of the Raichu and Meowstic fur on her.-

-Ren is in the other room. Ren has Rio with him to monitor the Situation with out intruding on the girl and Chessur and Baleno.-

-While Baleno is enjoying the attention of being petted by the girl as Chessur watches as he sits on the girl's shoulders.-

Chessur: -sending to Ren, Rio, Baleno, and Desi- ~I'm going to try to invite her into a mind link. I'm planning on going slow, but be prepared just in case.~

-Baleno looks up at the transmission.-

Ren: Well here come the hard part...

-Chessur stands up and stretches on the girl's shoulders before lightly hopping onto the floor just within arm's reach.-

-Like the day before, Chessur raises his arm towards the girl, but this time the girl, with her psychic abilities, might notice a thread of psychic energy starting to grow from the Meowstic paw. But instead of trying go right at her, the thread seems to peacefully wave around waiting for someone to reach out and connect with it.-

-The girl notices the thread immediately. She seems to take a moment to think about it before before one of her hairs reaches up to touch it - a purely symbolic gesture, of course, but one she apparently feels like making.-

Girl: ~You. Cat-thing. Very warm.~

-An orange glow of appreciation.-

Girl: ~Why let me touch? Cat-things always steal food and cause pain before.~

Chessur: ~We wanted to make you happier. You seemed scared and alone. I know because I was like that once too...~

-Chessur sends a few images of him eking out a life in Kalos. Of him taking a discarded Feedbas head from the trash at the Lumiose hotel and being chased by the cook and being saved by Ren. Of Chessur training and playing other members of Ren's team.-

Chessur: ~That man who saved me gave me a name. My name is Chessur. Do you have a name?~

Duniree's Suite

Girl: ~Teachers... call me Num Sev For. Other Students call me Wolfram.~

-Blurry, dark purple. Sour, nasty thoughts, followed by yellow-white warm... familial.-

-Chessur flinches-

Baleno: <What's up?>

Chessur: <This Bunnelby hole goes a lot deeper than we thought...>

Chessur: ~Um... May I call you Wolfram? My friend, Baleno, is worried. Can I connect with him too, se he can talk as well?~

-The girl thinks for a bit.-

Girl: ~Old name, but... okay.~

-Fuzzy, green thoughts. Uncertainty.-

Girl: ~Friend? Other warm... thing?~

-It doesn't appear that she has a word for Baleno.-

-Chessur decides to take a risk and connects his mind to Baleno's.-

Baleno: ~Yeesh. Give me a bit of warning next time...~

Chessur: ~Sorry... Wolfram... This is Baleno. He's a friend.~

Baleno: ~Um... Hi?~

-Baleno physically waves at Wolfram since he can't do fancy mental image transfer stuff.-

Girl: ~Hello... Baleno-thing. You... can't mindspeak?~

-More green fuzziness, tinged with brown confusion.-

-Chessur and Baleno blink at the implication of that statement.-

Chessur: ~Ummm...~

Baleno: ~No... I can't... I'm just an Electric-type...~

Chessur: ~Wolfram... This might be an odd question... But could everyone you met before you met Dune "mind speak"?~

Duniree's Suite

Girl: ~Ele... ctric?~

-A red tinge of irritation lines the green fuzziness.-

Girl: ~Dune, nice... gives food, and tasty water... even if he scarier than me...~

-A blue soothing replaces the irritation.-

Girl: ~Mindspeak with Students, yes... Teachers... sometimes. Only when spoken to.~

-Hints of gloomy purple.-

Girl: ~Always thoughts others were mean when they not mindspeak. Black cat-things with red things on head and sharp claws worst.~

-The gloomy purple turns black - angry, hateful black as thoughts of sharp claws and hungry sleep creep in. But the soothing blue keeps it in check.-

-Baleno sighs.-

Baleno: -aimed at Chessur- ~You take this one.~

Chessur: ~Well Wolfram... There is something you should know. Not everyone can "mind speak". In fact, in humans it is a VERY rare thing. But their are lots of Pokemon who, like me, can "mind speak". They are called Psychic-type Pokemon. But there are other types Pokemon that can not be receive "mind speak" mind speak nor be affected by powers like yours and mine. Those are known as "Dark-type Pokemon.~

-Chessur pauses to let Wolfram absorb and process the info dump and wait to see if she asks questions.-

Duniree's Suite

-Green fuzz. Red and brown confusion. A flash of white inspiration.-

Girl: ~So... Dune is Dark-Type?~

-Baleno falls over laughing at Wolfram's question as Chessur sweatdrops.-

Chessur: ~Not quite. While some humans can use powers similar to certain pokemon, those humans being called "aurics" or "obscurists". Dune is not a Dark Obscurist. I don't know all the details, but Dune's mind is heavily fortified against attacks from psychic powers of any sort. But his body is still affected by psychic powers.~
