-Blitz nods slowly as Efreet continues the story-

F!Blitz: "They sound like an intimidating pair. Can't say I'm a fan of arranged marrages, but ancient times and all"

Sir Gerald: It's good to dream big.

-Bulldozer and Ember have stopped talking-

Mireille: <Certainly, but I'm sure glad that Sergey - forgive the pun - stays earthbound. Dreaming is good... but taking it too far will likely end bad.>

Aicha fidgeted around happily

Aicha: <Weeeell~? Can I count on you two?>

Pastoria City

-Efreet nods-

-...Jason stay quiet-

-And so it was that for 4 years, the mercenary would guard his charge by day, and train her by night. As time began to march on, the man felt himself growing...fond...of the woman he was charged with protecting...and soon t was known she would feel the same for him.-

-Not one for subtlety, the bodyguard approached the aging Warlord-

Efreet:If it would please your Grace, I would wish for your daughters hand in marriage.

-The Warlord was, admittedly, skeptical of this arrangement. This man was not a man of political power. He was not a prince or an emissary of a foreign land...-

-But this man was now a friend to the Warlord...and as he found, a love of his daughter.-

-He permitted them wed.And so life was happy for many years more.-

-Together, the man, now a Prince in terms of marriage, and his beloved, now heavy with child, planned to succeed the throne at the time which her father would soon pass away.-

-As fate would have it, however, a former suitor, enraged that he, a Prince of a land that would become today'sUnova, would be turned away for this brute of a man she called husband. He, with an army of men, stormed the keep of of Fontaine. Caught unawares, their guard was swiftly overcome...and the Prince kicked in the door, challenging the man before him for his bride's hand-

-The man stood, his wife bade him-

Undine:Dearest...you cannot-!

Efreet:But I must, my love...if not...I would be without honor...

-Efreet clashed with the man, fighting with all his might, blades sparked against each other!-

-...Until one parry left him exposed...-

-The Foreign Prince raised his blade to end the life of his foe...-

-And ended up bringing it down on the woman would guarded him...-

-As Undine fell, a rage boiled up within Efreet, a blazing fire that he had not felt in years! In one swift motion he split his opponent in twain and roared, chrging forth to seek the army that the foreigner had brought, laying each low, tens by the swing-

-And then...all was quiet-

-The rage faded away-

-And Efreet felt great sorrow for his slain beloved...and his unborn child-

Efreet:What is victory with none to celebrate it with. What is battle without one to return to?!

What is life...when purpose is taken from you...

-And with those words, Efreet turned his own blade to himself, so that he may join his love in the afterlife-

-Time passed...yet the duo was not forgotten. In their honor, the Pokemon that survived them, Undine's demure Horsea and Efreet's mighty Magmar, where bequeathed their names, and honored for the remainder of their life.-

Efreet:<And as such was my family line born...as well as Undine's...every male Magby born to my ancestors carries the name of the Mercenary...every female Horsea in her line bears the name of the Princess...>

-He sighs-

<This is the story passed down for twenty-three generations now...and this is why I never wish to hurt my dear friend...though she may harm me...>

Jason:Wow, Efreet...I never knew...

-Blitz is silent for a while-

F!Blitz: "That's... a pretty sad story, Efreet"

"Sorry, I had no idea about that when Undine showed up"

Pastoria City

Efreet:<It is fine, pink hair...there is no way you'd know.>

Jason:Wow...

Efreet:-looks at Shadow Undine-<I hope it has helped you as well...>

-Undine spits at Efreet-

<Hah...Lord Maxwell, if you would?>

-Jason nods and recalls the Shadow-

<Now...I must rest...>

-He tromps back into the Center-

Jason:-checks his Shadow Gauge app-Hm...?

Well...guess it helped...a tiny bit...

-He sighs-

I never would have guessed...

-Beat-

Maybe I should get some more spicy treats for him...

F!Blitz: "Still... Thanks for telling me"

-She watches him go-

"He could probably use that, looks like this is gonna be rough on him"

....

"Well, that's two found a least, if there's anything I can do to help..."

Sir Gerald: <It was a pleasure meeting you two.>

Bulldozer: <Never.>

Ember: <Begrudgingly.>

Jason:I know who t' call first.

-He grins-

Aicha giggled before hopping to Ember, detailing her plan, it boiled down to thoroughly smash some Touga berries to a paste before secretly putting some into Sergey's mouth at night while putting some Jacoba berries into the water that he'd likely drink.

Aicha: <And, watcha' say? Isn't it funny?>

F!Blitz: "Definitely"

-She smirks back-

"I'd better find that Ditto before it slips too far away though"

Pastoria City

Jason:Right. Later, bro.

-He heads off-

Pastoria

Ember: <Not funny in the slightest.>

Pastoria

Aicha made a pouty face

Aicha: <Fiiiiineee... I don't need help anyway...>

She looked to Sergey, chuckling.

Pastoria

Ember: <Perhaps I can help come up with a plan less...sadistic.>

If her face was any evidence she did not intend do forget her own plan just now... but if there were two pranks? Oh she did not mind postponing her own for now.

Ember: <First, what are his sleeping arrangements? Does he camp? Or stay at a Pokemon Center?>

The GM House

-Garuda flies down from a particularly exhilarating updraft and hovers next to a certain Swampert, who has been sitting in a single spot in the shade for the last half hour or so.-

Garuda: <Something is bothering you.>

Rill: <... Is it that obvious?>

Garuda: <In short, yes.>

-Rill sighs.-

Rill: <I'm not a great fighter, am I?>

Garuda: ...

Rill: <The only fight I've actually won in recent memory was because I was hopped up on Mega juice. I can't even beat Laharl anymore, and he's still in his "pompous brat" phase.>

-In the distance, Laharl can be seen being thrown through the air in a tumble, the sound of Ajax laughing coupling with the Tyrantrum's screams of terror providing an appropriate backdrop.-

Garuda: <I apologize. I did not know it was bothering you so much.>

Rill: <Rgh... how could it not?! The only two who have been on this team longer than me are you and Galvani! And you two haven't lost a fair fight in forever!>

-Rill grabs a rock and chucks it. It goes sailing over the Battle Square before dropping out of sight.-

Garuda: <Well... what sort of training have you been doing?>

Rill: <Anything I can think of! I've even been doing squats. Squats, Garuda!>

-Garuda thinks for a moment.-

Garuda: <Have you tried specifying a training regiment that you might need improvement in?>

Rill: <Such as?>

Garuda: <Well, you seem to go down in a surprisingly small number of attacks. Perhaps endurance training may be in order.>

-Rill gives Garuda a sour look before sighing.-

Rill: <Fine, fine. What do you have in mind?>

Garuda: <Ice beam.>

Rill: <Ice beam?>

*BVVVVVM!*

Garuda: <Ice beam.>

Rill: <OW!>

F!Blitz: "So, what's the deal with you popping up in my bag like that anyway? I thought you were back in Hoenn still"

-The shiny ditto sitting on the park bench overlooking a portion of the Great Marsh gives a shrug-

Ditto:<Simple, I was just planning to hitch a ride to someplace I wouldn't have to worry about my old "trainer" finding me>

-The blob smirks-

<And then, wouldn't you know it. You go turning into a Greninja in the moonlight, and you've got that set of hero pajamas and all those toys, not to mention what you're doing now>

F!Blitz: "Talking to a pokemon?"

Ditto: <Okay, true but I meant that>

-It gestures to Blitz, who just looks more confused about what's so interesting about her sitting there before tinting at the realization that the ditto is gesturing to the more obviously feminine portions of her body-

F!Blitz: "Hey, seriously? I don't need everyone reminding me about those. It wasn't planning on this you know, geeze"

Ditto: <Settle down, it's not like I can judge. Pretty sure you know what my species' reputation is when it come to breeding. The point is, things are a lot more interesting around you than I expected. So I'm gonna stick around for a while.>

F!Blitz: "... Fine. Guess I can live with that logic. Guess I can't go around calling you "ditto" all the time, what was that name again... Dufont?"

Ditto: <Ugh. No way am I going by the name that rich twerp gave me>

F!Blitz: "Good point"

-She rubs her chin for a moment while trying to think of a replacement name, and remembers the little canon trick the ditto had pulled-

"...How about Rocket?"

Ditto: ...

-Blobtilt-

<Sure, I can live with that>

-The newly named ditto nods-

Rocket: <Now that that's settled, I'm getting something to eat. See ya!>

-Rocket grabs the edge of the bench and pulls back, stretching itself a bit before suddenly snapping forward and rolling off toward the pokemon center, leaving Blitz shaking her head at the new team member-

Lucius is strolling through the city with Maul in tow.

Maul: ~So, how did online dating go?~

Lucius: Decided against it in the end. I figure I'm better off holding out for some kind of miracle rather than flushing away what remains of my dignity.

He sees F!Blitz, stops in his tracks, and whistles.

Lucius: ...Speaking of miracles, heeeeeeeello beautiful. You reckon I should give it a shot, Maul?

Maul: ~No.~

Lucius: Whatever, I'm taking the chance. Stand back and let the Romance Wizard work his magic.

He wanders over to F!Blitz with what he clearly hopes is casual nonchalance.

Lucius: Hey there. You must be a stick of cotton candy, because you're the sweetest thing I've seen all evening.

The GM House

-Dune shivers.-

Deziree: ... What?

Dune: My cringe senses are tingling.

-Blitz was about to stand up and go find something else to do before noticing Lucius approaching-

-The cotton candy comment causes her to just stare at him for a moment in confusion as any thought she had of how the conversation might go was completely obliterated-

F!Blitz: "....What?"
