Zachary: "Thanks, trying to bond with him is tough but...I have to keep trying, it's either I get him to not be a jerk to society or he goes to jail, uh, long story, he was a wild Pokemon that stole from people or something, anyways, may I get your name?"

Nack: <Hmmm....Oooh, the thought of crushing opponents in battles sounds very appealing! And all the glory I would gain from it! Hm, though I think i'm far from participating in any battles for sport with this guy, his team keeps telling me that he was once a really good trainer but he stopped to help his dad in debt or something and then he just gave up, I guess, what a loser...>

Ghiaccio, Zachary's Empoleon, suddenly kicks Nack, causing him to fall on his face.

Ghiaccio: <Hey! It's true Zachary hasn't had any battles for sport recently but he had his own personal reasons for doing so and I respect them!>

Nack: <Yeah, yeah...>

Aurum: <Y'know that no matter what you say or do, Zachary isn't going to stop trying to bond with you? He's as stubborn as an old mule, so just shut up and don't embarass us when we're in public>

Aurum the Gardevoir turns to Etran and speaks to him telepathically.

Aurum: ~So, i'm guessing you come from Hoenn based on your team? What are you doing here in Sinnoh?~

Etran: Um, yeah. I'm from Hoenn. M-my name is Etran. I came to Sinnoh to collect badges, and to become a better trainer. Um, Siku...

-Etran sends out Siku-

Siku: <Buddy!>

-Siku, a huge Walrein charges into Etran, who then falls over.-

Etran: Yeah, I love you too, buddy. Please get off me.

-Etran gets up, and is noticably more cheerful.-

Etran: Sorry. I get uncomfortable easily. When that happens, my buddy is always there to make me feel better.

-Erebus stands in attention in front of Siku.-

Erebus: <Sir!>

Siku: <Relax, Erebus.>

-Erebus stands at ease as Siku turns to Zachary's team-

Siku: <Interesting team you have here.>

Reggie: Yes, thither are a pair of Star Pieces in this city. I was not going to mention it.

Raeburn: Why not?

Reggie: Because thou are a complete    IDIOT!   

Ismene: Relax, Reggie! You don't have to be that cruel with him!

Raeburn: Let's look for those pieces, ok?

Raeburn then spends all the night searching for the items.

Ghiaccio: <Thank you very much! We actually don't get that very often!>

Aurum: ~It may be because we have a FARFETCH'D in our team~

Ghiaccio: <Aurum please don't say that IN FRONT of Smoke!>

Aurum: ~So you're saying it's okay for me to say that as long as it's not in front of Smoke?~

Ghiaccio: <N-No, that's not what I— ARGH! You're so mean and you make conversations with you so infuriating!>

Aurum: ~Deal with it, I guess~

Aurum and Ghiaccio start arguing while Nack watches on confusedly and Zachary laughes it off nervously before turning to Etran.

Zachary: "So you come from Hoenn? That's neat! I once also tried to collect the Badges here but I had to give that up for my own personal reasons, anyways, you seem to have a great bond with your Walrein there! I wish I was that good at bonding with Pokemon, hehe....Though I guess I am out of the loop, I haven't caught another Pokemon in what seems like FOREVER"

Ghiaccio listens in on what Zachary is saying and ignores Aurum completely to participate in the conversation.

Ghiaccio: <Yeah! You and your trainer look super adorable together! I wish Nack was just like that so it could be super adorable too and bond with Zach and become a SUPER ADORABLE ROSELIA!!>

Nack: <In your best dreams and my worst nightmares you oversized fat penguin!>

Ghiaccio: <Case. In. Point!>

Ghiaccio squirts a Water Gun at Nack, pushing him back and knocking him over once more, causing Ghiaccio to let out a relieved sigh and then giggle to herself.

Siku: <Naw, they said we were adorable together.>

-Siku happily claps-

Erebus: <Well, training this little guy to become great and strong should begin somewhere!>

-Erebus turns to Siku-

Erebus: <Sir, permission to challenge this Budew to a glorious battle?>

Siku: <Ask him, not me. Also Etran can't understand us, so you'll have to find some way for him to get the idea.>

Aurum: ~Well, if Nack wants to battle then I can translate to Etran and Zachary telepathically~

Nack: <Well, that would be just amazing! I'd surely enjoy a battle for once>

Ghiaccio: <Em, you sure about that? First of all, you're a Grass type and second of all you're a BABY Pokemon>

Nack: <Shaddup you! Just because i'm classified as a Baby Pokemon doesn't mean i'm a baby!>

Aurum: ~Since you're a wild Pokemon literally all of the damaging moves you know are Grass type, are you 100% sure you wanna battle this FIRE dog?~

Nack: <Shut up shut up shut UP!! I just wanna prove my worth, is that too much to ask!?>

Smoke suddenly appears behind Nack and pets him, surprising Aurum and Ghiaccio.

Smoke: <If he wants to fight, then let him>

Aurum and Ghiaccio look at each other and Aurum shrugs before turning to Etran.

Aurum: ~Hey, Etran, your Erebus wants to battle against our Nack, and Nack is not backing down~

Zachary: "Hm, ya sure Na—"

Aurum: ~Oh trust me you are not convincing him otherwise~

Zachary: "Hmmm....I'm sure I can make this work! I accept Erebus' challenge! ...If you're okay with a battle of course!>

-Etran steps five paces back. He's visibly more comfortable.-

Etran: Alright, let's do this, Erebus!

Erebus: <With pleasure, sir!>

Etran: Fire Fang!

-Erebus runs at Nack, and attempts to bute him with his teeth on fire.-

=Veilstone=

Aurum: <Do you think he'll stand a chance?>

Ghiaccio: <Well, our best bet at victory is to have Nack actually listen and cooperate with Zachary so...I don't know?>

As Erebus dashes towards Nack with his teeth set ablaze, Nack is looking determined.

Zachary: "Nack, I want you to use—"

Nack: <Nope! Not anytime soon!>

Nack jumps to the side right as Erebus is about to bite him with fiery fangs, landing face-first on the ground before quickly standing back up.

Zachary: "Dammit Nack, I need you to actually listen to me in order to win! I had a plan and everything!"

Nack: <And i'm not gonna risk it!>

Nack attempts to use Stun Spore by generating a big amount of yellow dust in the two intertwined vines above his head and then shooting it out from there in Erebus' direction.

Veilstone

-Erebus starts moving, but is still hit by the Stun Spore-

Erebus:< I'm hit. I'm unable to move!>

Etran: Alright, use ember!

-Despite being unable to move his feet, Erebus shoots fire at Nack-

Outside Veilstone

Tex tries the forest a second time. As he walks for what feels like hours, he gets a funny feeling again. Something could go wrong. Feeling daring, he walks in the direction that makes that feeling strongest.

Veilstone

Erin, Swampy, and Brook eat popcorn. absentmindedly watching the Pokemon that just challenged each other to a battle from the sidelines.

-Gogie is sitting near a lake fishing, Sphere nearby-

=Veilstone=

As Erebus shoots out an ember forwards, Nack tries to jump back to dodge it but the ember still hits him, causing a lot of damage to Nack, though he still manages to hold on.

Nack: <G-Gah....I can't believe such a tiny flame could cause so much pain!>

Aurum: ~Well, you are a Grass type~

Nack: <S-Shut up...>

Zachary: "Okay, Nack! You have to listen to me, I know you don't really like me, but if you just listen and cooperate with me, we can win this! So please, just cooperate!"

Nack: <....Fine, just give me your orders quickly before he gets another attack in!>

Nack looks back to Zachary and nods, causing Zachary to smile.

Zachary: "Okay, Nack! Use Water Sport before he gets another attack in!"

From the two intertwined vines in his head, Nack shoots out a lot of water that was stored in his body while he spins around like a sprinkler, the water everywhere weakens the strenght of fire attacks, but only temporarily.

Zachary: "Okay now that should help you stay in the battlefield for a bit more if you get hit by a fire move, now get ready to dodge any of his upcoming attacks!"

Veilstone

Erebus: <Clever, but we have many more tricks up our sleeves!>

Etran: We can still win this! Erebus, use Smog!

Erebus: <Yes, sir!>

-Poisonous gas comes out of Erebus's mouth and surrounds Nack.-

Nack worriedly turns to Zachary, who doesn't seem to be worried by the smog, and then tries to run away, but trips and falls on his face as the smog surroudns him and sinks into his skin.

Nack: <OH ARCEUS PLEASE NO, IT BURNS!! IT BURNS!! AHHH— Wait, I barely felt that, it hurt but I thought it would hurt more...why?>

Zachary: "Em, Nack? Are you forgetting that you're part Poison type?"

Nack: <OH! Yes! Bwahahahaha!>

Zachary: "Okay Nack, your strongest damaging move, and your only damaging move basically, is Grass type, so it might take you a while to take down Erebus, which is why you need to be on your toes at all times and watch out for his attacks! Now, strike with Mega Drain!"

Nack grins as small green glowing tentacle-like roots come out of its back and suddenly stretch rapidly towards Erebus, should they hit, they will suck his nutrients and regain some of Nack's lost energy, however, it is expected to do below-average damage because of Erebus' Fire type.

-Erebus tries to run from the roots, but can barely move due to paralysis. However, it barely hurts him.-

Erebus: <I was expecting that to hurt a lot more.>

Etran:I was hoping Smog would poison him, but guess not. Oh, well. Ember!

-Erebus sends out more fire at Nack.-

=Veilstone=

Nack takes a sigh of relief as he regains a small bit of his lost energy, but not much due to the fact that Erebus resists the attack. Nack panics when he suddenly sees the ember shot out from Erebus' mouth towards him.

Zachary: "Nack, dodge!"

Nack retracts the roots sticking to Erebus and jumps to the side as the ember barely grazes his skin, afterwards Nack stands up and awaits commands.

Zachary: "Okay Nack, this is gonna be weird but I want you to use Mega Drain and literally as soon as you stab your roots into him I want you to pull them back with all of your strenght!"

Nack: <I-I....What!?>

Nack shoots Zachary a confused look but Zachary repeats the commands, so Nack decides to go along with it and uses Mega Drain once more by releasing roots and stretching them towards Erebus once more.

Veilstone

-Erebus is stabbed by the roots-

Etran: Erebus, try to burn the roots!

-Erebus shoots fire at the roots.-

-Siku is still watching the battle-

Siku: <Looks like Erebus's first battle outside of training isn't going well.>

Nack once again sighs in relief for a moment as he regains a bit of his lost energy due to Mega Drain but then suddenly starts panicking as he notices that the roots are on fire and the fire is slowly spreading towards him.

Nack: <G-Gah! I gotta do this quick or else the fire will get to me!>

Nack then starts pulling the roots back with all of his force while they're still sticked to Erebus, hoping to get Erebus to fall on his face and get tangled on the burning roots before the fire gets to him and burns him.

-Erebus trips on the roots and falls. However due to flash fire, the burning roots increase fire's power.-

Etran: C-can you move, Erebus?

-Erebus struggles, but manages to stand up.-

Erebus: <I doubt I'll last much longer, sir! I can't move and I'm weak.>

Etran: Try to take him down before you fall. Fire fang if you can move, ember if you can't!

-Erebus struggles, but due to paralysis, is unable to move. Erebus quickly shoots fire in Nack's direction.-

=Veilstone=

Zachary: "Okay Nack, the burning roots didn't do much due to his Flash Fire Ability, but he should still be vulnerable, even more so now that he's paralyzed and weakened, just hit him with Mega Drain a few more times!"

Nack attempts to hit Erebus with Mega Drain but is suddenly hit by the rapid Ember directly, knocking him back but thankfully not inflicting the Burn status, however, he is left very weakened.

Zachary: "N-Nack! Are you okay?"

Zachary, Ghiaccio and Aurum stare at Nack laying weakened in the ground for a moment before he stands up once more, though visibly in pain.

Nack: <OH THANK THE LORD FOR WATER SPORT!>

Aurum: <Well, then I recommend you to finish off that dog as fast you can, because Water Sport is fading out and even if Water Sport was active I don't think you could stand another hit from him>

Zachary: "Alright Nack! It's now or never so let's hit him with all we got! Charge at him and hit him while you use your Mega Drain attack!"

Nack: <You idiot if I don't finish him off right away his Fire Fang will finish me off!>

Zachary: "I know you're doubting this plan but I need you to just trust me on this one, if you just use Mega Drain it's not gonna be enough to finish him off and he'll just get you with Ember eventually!"

Ghiaccio: <Okay, even for Zachary this sounds way too risky!>

Aurum: ~Eh, i've seen him do stupider risky things, this isn't really a surprise to me~

Nack groans and does as Zachary tells him, releasing his tentacle-like Mega Drain roots and charging at Erebus, hoping to hit him head-on while hitting him with Mega Drain.

Outside Veilstone

Tex walks for what felt like hours, though really it was about 20 minutes. He finally reaches his unknown destination, and notices what looks like one of those meteorites from the city.

Veilstone

-Erebus is hit by the mega drain, and catches himself before he falls.-

Etran: Guess it comes down to whether this hits or not. Fire Fang!

-As Nack charges him, Erebus's mouth is set on fire. However, Erebus's fire fang wears off fast, due to the paralysis. He is then hit head on, knocking him out-

Etran: Erebus! Well, you did good for your first battle. Return.

-Etran recalls Erebus, then turns to Zachary-

Etran: Well, you won. You're pretty good.

=Veilstone=

Nack: <Haha....HAHAHAHA!! I DID IT! I DEFEATED MY OPPONENT GLORIOUSLY IN BATTLE! And it's all thanks to....Zachary!>

Zachary: "Woo! I knew you could do it, Nack! C'mere buddy!"

Zachary dashes over to Nack and hugs him, Nack then is about to bite him but reconsiders and just lets himself be hugged, Zachary then turns to Etran.

Zachary: "You battled really well too! If you keep battling like that, I bet you could get all of the Sinnoh Badges in no time! Oh man, it's been years since I last battled like that, it reminds me of when I was an actual trainer....Y'know what? I don't have anything stopping me from becoming one now so I might just do that...soon, but not right now since i'm sort of caught up in a bunch of personal problems"

Ghiaccio then starts jumping around enthusiastically while giggling to herself.

Ghiaccio: <Yay! YAY! Zach's becoming a trainer again!!>

Zachary: "Whoa, calm down there Ghiaccio! You don't have to get so exci—- Wait, wait, stop Ghiaccio, WE TALKED ABOUT THIS GHIACCIO NOOO!!!!"

Ghiaccio attempts to hug Zachary but due to her heavy weight she ends up falling over and crushing both Zachary and Nack, Aurum walks up to them and shakes his head in disappointment before sighing.

Aurum: ~Once again, it's up to me to babysit you all, at least Smoke is mature and doesn't have to— ....Wait a second, where IS Smoke?~

Zachary: "We'll look for him later! JUST GET ME OUT OF HERE BEFORE MY SPINE IS CRUSHED!"

Aurum shrugs and uses Telekinesis to levitate the three and put them on their feet.

Zachary: "Whew, anyways Etran, thanks for reminding me of the thrill of battling! And I'm pretty sure you helped me bond with Nack a bit more so thanks for that too!"
