Mathilde sighs. "The work is never done. At this rate, I shan't have time for tea today." She buzzes him in.

Mathilde's Office

-Mathilde would see a rather tall figure in a large Black Cloak enter her office-

-She would then hear a telepathic voice-

???: ~Hey, are you the one to talk to about joining this thing?~

Mathilde raises an eyebrow. "Well, normally, I'd direct you to my colleague, my duties have recently not included hiring, but you seem like a fellow I'd much rather talk to myself. May I have your name, sir?"

Mathilde's Office

Kerberos: ~If you want a name, you can call me Kerberos.~

Mathilde nods. "I have no problems with knowing my subordinates by aliases alone, many of my current subordinates I've never even seen their faces. And judging by your hood, I feel it's probably wise not ask to see yours. My name is Mathilde Bellerose, I am the Information Expert in Neo-Illusion, and my job is overseeing two of our less savory departments, information infiltration, and information extraction. Or to my more uncouth colleagues, espionage and torture. Is there a role you feel is specially suited to your skills?"

Mathilde's Office

Kerberos: ~Yeah, I'd much rather keep this on.~

~As for what I feel I'm good in, I'd say information infiltration. I was in charge of monitoring incoming and outgoing communications back in Neo-Galactic.~

Mathilde grins. "Oh, you've worked for one of our competitors, then. Now, obviously in our business, references are preferred, but of course not mandatory, due to the nature of our work, but since you've worked for Neo-Galactic, I figure that's good enough for me. ...You weren't fired for gross incompetence, were you?"

Mathilde's Office

Kerberos: ~Considering my boss gave up that kind of stuff and is doing science-based community service, I doubt you're going to hear anything from him anyway.~

~But, nah, that was more due to structural problems. And the fact my boss suddenly got a conscience. I did well with the job I had.~

Mathilde nods. "I figured that was the case, but I have to ask, company policies. Also company policy, have you ever been charged or convicted of a felony?" She says this with a grin on her face.

Mathilde's Office

Kerberos: ~Charged... nearly. Convicted, never.~

Mathilde shrugs. "No one's perfect. All right, you're hired on a trial basis, my spy network, I will admit, is quite extensive, but you are quite lucky, about 5 or so positions just opened up. My spymaster, Hyacinthus, will brief you on your first mission within the next couple of days, and we'll see how it goes from there."

Mathilde's Office

Kerberos: ~Got it. I take it they'll find me?~

Mathilde nods. "Indeed. You will know it's him by the pink suit and Roseli cologne."

Mathilde's Office

Kerberos: ~Alright, I'll keep that in mind.~

~Well, thanks for giving me a shot.~

-The figure opens the door and heads out-

"Oh, um, no, I'll be fine, thanks for the concern though." The minute the topic turns to his own well-being, Max immediately gets defensive, trying to smooth his hair down and stand up straighter.

Mossdeep - several days ago

Shinobi: -To Max- <Alright then...>

-He blinks at the rough interruption of the near mention of his legendary side-job and scratches an ear awkwardly-

-To Brandon- <Um... Yeah, I'm still substituting. Didn't think she'd be on vacation for so long.>

-He glances nervously back at Max and his team-

I'm sure the last thing his sanity needs it to hear what I REALLY am...

Hmm, what to talk about, anything too "interesting" might be bad for Max in his current state...

-to Shinobi- "So I don't know if you heard me when I mentioned it earlier, but I'm a J-Team member now."

Brandon: <Huh, at this point it almost seems like she took a leave of absence rather than a vacation.>

-Deziree sits down on the break room couch, next to a rather tired-looking Dune.-

Deziree: So what's the plan?

Dune: They're going with cremation. The memorial's going to be in the middle of September.

Deziree: Alright.

-Deziree wraps an arm around Dune's shoulder.-

Deziree: Tell me, have you ever wanted to take a break from life?

-Dune lolls his head over to look at his girlfriend.-

Dune: ... Pardon?

Deziree: I think you need a vacation. From life. And I know just the thing.

Dune: Eh. Worth a shot.

Just drained, I guess. It's been an awful three weeks. And I realized I had been neglecting my mons, so there's also that.

Sally:<Ya mean fighting the zombie mons?>

Kirby:<A-and the g-giant 50 ft Squirtle?>

Violet:<Okay, okay, I take it back! We did all kinda need a break for a bit. But you better not forget about us again, okay Meddy?>
