I didn't claim we should keep this. I just get annoyed at those assuming the meme came out of nowhere.

Also, the ykttw's context makes it clear it's named for that game. Potholing it under "Guess" shows that. It's just that this was before better standards for listing things was... actually those standards aren't universal even now.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.

Just a layman's (occasional reader of the site's) opinion-I only came across this trope because i was looking at the Torchwood Miracle Day entry and saw the name and assumed it was a typo (and didn't know what it could mean).

I had never heard of this meme, but that doesn't bother me much- I only recently played Portal for the first time, and found out Nice Job Breaking It, Hero is from it. But, with "Nice Job" I knew just what the trope meant, without that knowledge. This one, not so much.

Actually, until I cam to this discussion, I didn't know where the title came from- it almost seemed as if TV Tropes had just, as a whole, decided to forget about proper English sentence structure. If the reason for the title was in the description, I wouldn't be so bothered about it.

I love humorously-named tropes- the wit on this site is one of the reasons I enjoy it. And I certainly understand and appreciate the desire to enshrine specific games, characters, and phrases in titles- I actually dislike when tropes are re-named just because "we don't want to do that". But this is a case when it actually bothered me that I had no idea what this meant, or why it was phrased so poorly.

Just my two cents.

[up] When that happens you try to solve the problems, you don't derail a thread. That goes against the rules of the site.

There's 501 threads and there was about that many when I last checked. I can't delete them and I've been trying to post various things here for ages. I don't really see what other choice I have.

[up] That's not an excuse. I waited a long until I could open one, and back then there were 650 threads open, so don't cry.

Hadashi, please don't try to circumvent the thread limit like that. It's there for a reason.

Morguing this old thread.
