Same. I summoned Gael just to get through that phase quicker.
I would be happy with any two of the three phases; it's still the one boss aside from Midir (because just... no, I'm not sitting through that fight again) and the Ancient Dragon that I haven't done using the full Havel set once it was available in the respective game. This annoys me.
Avatar SourcePhase 2 goes by fairly quickly if you focus on Ariandel. He's actually more fragile than Friede and a bigger target to boot.
Disgusted, but not surprisedHe also has easy ripostes.
Do we talk Demon's Souls PS 5 here, or have I missed the thread?
I feel like I'm stuck with World Tendency. I've defeated all the bosses of Stonefang Mine, but tendency isn't at white, and with no more bosses to defeat and invasions no longer possible (right? Not that I'd want to Pv P anyway), there's no way to increase it, right?
I ask about Stonefang in particular, but it's a general question really. Information on the wiki suggests it's only possible to tend to black from where I am now.
Ah, one of the biggest reasons I have no interest in trying to get a new console for the foreseeable future: they didn't do anything to fix that mess of a system.
Avatar SourceWell, server tendency is no longer a factor apparently; only your own actions affect your own world tendency, it no longer applies a server average when you log in, so there's that at least :P
Hard to tell much from the gameplay other than "open-world Soulsborne", but this looks real good.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.You're not wrong, but really, that's all I want :D I hope it's in a Breath of the Wild mould, where you can just go wherever straight away, no particular immediate objective.
I wonder what that open-world aspect will look like, considering how unlocking access to new areas is such a huge part of the Souls formula. I don't suppose you'll be able to ride up to the final boss straight from the start?
Worldbuilding is fun, writing is a choreRiding straight up a tree might prove to be a bit difficult, yes.
If only this was a Bethesda game.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?can't wait for "How to beat elden ring without walking" by Ymfah.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."It's possible to still lock areas off in an open world. Though I hope it's gonna be Breath of the Wild levels of openness, I think it's more likely there'll be 'dungeons' and so on, castles and stuff, that are almost like discrete zones with maybe only one or two ways in or out, with wider open areas surrounding them.
So, I was looking through cupboards (I incidentally found the copies of Dragon Age and its sequels that have to be around somewhere, but since I want all the DLC for Origins it was easier to just get the compiled version), and I came across this box.◊
I don't know if it was ever actually played (I know my father never played the game, and I didn't get into it until a long time later when I wouldn't have access to it). It just amuses me to find it.
(Also amusing to come back to the Elden Ring speculation)

Avatar SourceStill waiting for the PC servers to come back.
Why waste time when you can see the last sunset last?So this is a massive swing, but I'm taking it. A while ago I saw a video of someone in the Darkroot Garden, using the Chameleon spell to disguise themselves as a tree and hide from invaders. If they saw the invader they would remain still and the normal ambient sounds would play, but if the invader was out of sight they'd move around and Divertissement Pizzicato (I think) would play. Any chance someone knows the video and can link it?
I remember that video. I think it was from the same person who made the giantdad video?
Edit: I was probably mistaken, I was thinking of the video where he disguises as a knight in Anor Londo

Worldbuilding is fun, writing is a choreDamn, that sounds super familiar but I can't quite place it.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.I'm 90% sure it WAS indeed made by Only Afro who does indeed make videos of this nature.
Silver Knight Shenanigans
I finally decided to pick up the original Dark Souls. It was the only From Soft Soulsborne game I had left to play.
I just beat Ornstein and Smough and claimed the Lordvessel.
I don't know if I've just been poisoned by Elden Ring, but O&S felt like the first real boss fight in the game for me. Like, in terms of presentation and intensity. It was very good. I'm not enjoying the overall game as much as I was expecting, but then I remembered that I usually find my first time through From's games more painful than enjoyable.

Kaze ni Nare!DS 1 and DS 2 are a lot slower paced than anything From did from Bloodborne onwards, especially the more generic boss fights in DS 1.
Avatar SourceElden Ring's got enough QOL improvements that it's hard to go back to the original DS games. Though if you're a fan of Bloodborne's faster gameplay you might find yourself missing the Rally mechanic and better dodging.
Disgusted, but not surprised
I would like Friede a lot more if her phase 2 with Ariandel didn't exist. It makes the fight take forever which is very aggravating for when you die, which will happen a lot.
