Oh god the Obsidian Greatsword. It's a solid weapon, but not worth the difficulty of acquiring.

I won't even have the Str to two hand the fucker, but I'm collecting all the things on this character.

Yes, even if the Knight's Honor acheivement I've been negelcting doesn't require it, it just doesn't feel complete to leave out the tail.

Sure, it's much more satisfying to acquire it through bloody means, but I'm willing to bargain as well, considering the tediousness.

Though I doubt anyone would be willing to part with one, or has gone through the trouble of acquiring a duplicate.

My advice is run under him to trigger the stomp then run behind him to trigger the tail slam (rather than triggering a spin).

And if you're on PC I'll see about giving you mine (you can do password summons in DS 1 right?).

Red Tearstone, Bellowing Dragoncrest and Dusk Crown empowered Great Combustion "cut" the tail in a single hit!

So, I've been streaming various games over steam for the past 2 or 3 weeks. While my sig says I'm currently on The Force Unleashed 2, I'm at the moment screwing around in Dark Souls again as I decide the next game to start.

So the question is, is anyone here interested in watching me continue my punch sorcerer run and/or a Deprived that I intentionally tried to make super creepy looking?

Sometimes I wished the game would let us just mash any weapon together with a catalyst to make a spell casting melee weapon. That can buff itself.

So, how's Return to Lordran going for everyone? I haven't been able to get on yet, but I intend to! Gonna have to figure those mods out first.

Sunbroed a bit around Anor Londo with a cleric character I had. Gotta get them Great Lightning Spears. I should actually make a new character, to keep up with the spirit of the thing, I guess I'll try my first deprived (maybe a SL run?).

Dark Souls Connectivity Mod is easy: just run the .exe before you open Dark Souls.

Was reminded recently-ish (?) that this game exists and that I haven't done everything in it, so took my main over to the Painted World, got roasted a couple times by the... the beehive head guy (It's late)(I forget whether - oh yeah, I did beat him), found out that Priscilla is actually a really interesting fight, if pretty easy (and really saddening; she's just a lonely, outcast girl who doesn't want anybody to bother her), and also found out that there was a giant in Sen's Funhouse I hadn't fought (the guy that opens the front door).

Didn't fight Gwyn again yet, though. :/ *sigh* Maybe I'll give him another try or so sometime soonish. I dunno.
Maybe I'll also try and fight one of the NPC's or something, like Andre or the Giant Smith. Might be interesting.

Oh yeah, also fought Gwyndolin. Think I kinda like him; I'd probably be that kind of boss; just do a bit of sniping, maybe some magic, and run away like a bitch all day down a not-really-infinite corridor. Although Priscilla feels kinda me too; live in a painted prison world because I have no friends and just turn invisible when a fight starts. ._.

I'm at Ornstein and Smough at the moment. I tried to do a cleric build this time, but I haven't really found any miracles worth using yet and so far this is playing a lot like my tanky strength build but with a battle axe. And the claymore is a better faith weapon, so I'm probably going to switch to that. At which point it will be exactly like my tank build but with smaller endurance, lighter armor and maybe some miracles if I can ever get my hands on some. So I'm kind of losing interest in this character.

The good thing about Dark Souls is that you can remake a character mid-game.

How 'bout at the endgame? I'm level 73 with a 25 Str, 24 Dex, and a longsword.

Beat my head a couple more times just now against the Trump Border Wall that is Santa Claus. Trying out the painting guard knife, since it's supposed to be good for parrying; I can perfect the Knights, with a little luck, but can't read Gwyn at all. I think all you can see of his windups is the screen going black, or red, or his sword going completely off-screen, or some - IT'S REALLY FUCKING HARD, OKAY? HE'S FAST AND YOU CAN'T SEE SHIT FOR BOLLOCKS.

Out of three attempts, I parried two hits and got as many ripostes in. Did maybe a sixth or a seventh of his health (+14 longsword with Charcoal), he got up, I got knocked down, and I stayed off-balance and never parried anything else. Tried to parry his grab once.

Maybe if I do with him what I did against the Hellkite (max fire resist and fuck everything else)? Or if I just fight the Black Knights for three years until my stats make it above 30? I killed Gwenny and Gwendy out of boredom, so I can't farm Sentinels any more.
