Got to Azalea. Was going to bank on Hanzo and/or Genji against Bugsy, but the addition of Brigitte the Geodude in the grass right outside town has revealed an even easier path.

i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, baby

...Goddammit now I have two Brigittes (Sandshrew, caught in the cave).

Gonna have to rename one to Orisa when I get to... Goldenrod, I think?

Rocket fight uneventful; forget if I even caught anything in the cave. Don't think I did.

Beat Bugsy with no casaulties. Thrashed rival.

Broke from Overwatch theme for Pidge the Oddish.

En route to Goldenrod.

Things I’ve done and learned from playing again to Ruby:

1. Mudkip get, named Lotus.

2. Battle done.

3. Wurmple, male, named Bay.

4. Zigzagoon, female, named Archie (XD when I draw the comic (in a few years or so) Archie is going to freak out/be angry because I named a female Ziggy after him).

5. Zigzagoon, male, named Ann, died by Youngster Billy’s Taillow. Was the only one who picked up something :( and was only level 2 when he died.

6. Got a male Silcoon in Petalburg Woods. Took three Pokeballs.

7. Rich boy Winston has a full restore for his Zigzagoon. Bad.

8. Got to beat the Magma grunt.

9. Lotus vs. a Lass’s Lotad XD.

10. I almost killed the Lass’s Shrommish when my aunt got out of the restroom and I had to close everything. :( I swear he only had one HP left.

I’m currently playing Ruby and I have Firered on hiatus.

In Firered I’m stuck in Mt. Moon with injured Pokes, in Ruby I’m in front of the Pokemart in Odale Town, waiting to get in Route 103 and catch something.

Dang, this thread's been dead for a minute, huh?

Starting a new Leaf Green run tonight.

I'll be playing my usual ruleset with a limited version of the No Repeats Rule where I can/have to ignore the first two mons I encounter on a new route if they're ones I already have, but have to catch the third mon regardless.

I'm also toying with the idea of making this a no-evolution run, which I've never done before, but I'm very familiar with this game and even in a Nuzlocke may need the extra challenge. It'll be a while before I have to make a decision on that, at any rate.

As has been my standard for a while now I'm playing the female trainer by the name of Christi, but having come to a self-realization since the last time I played these games, I've updated my rival's name to reflect my true life-lone nemesis: Binary G.

Selected squirtle as my started by dice roll, and got a male. Being a blue male turtle and the leader of the group, I dubbed him Leonardo and proceeded to trounce Binary G in our first match up.

My first catch opportunity of the run was a male rattata on Route 1. Nibbles joined the team. Only too late did I realize the missed opportunity to name him Splinter.

On Route 22 I was getting nervous after encountering two more rattatas, but to my happy surprise, my third and final chance was a mankey. Having recently replayed Donkey Kong Country, it was only appropriate to name him Kongo.

The first spot of grass I stepped into on Route 2 contained a level 5 female pidgey who came out the gate spamming Sand Attack. I switched Leonardo out and back in with Nibbles just to clear the debuff after the sixth Sand Attack, and managed to land a couple tackles through a continuing barrage of sand. At that point I just started chucking balls, and the third one finally stuck, adding Miss Sandy to the team.

After a bit of grinding, I went to fight Binary G on Route 22. Leonardo took down his pidgey with Bubble spam and leveled up to 10, then Miss Sandy took bulbasaur down in two Gusts and also hit 10, leaving us at a good stopping point for the night.

    The Team

  • Leonardo, level 10 Squirtle
    • Tackle
    • Tail Whip
    • Bubble
    • Withdraw
  • Miss Sandy, level 10 Pidgey
    • Tackle
    • Sand Attack
    • Gust
  • Kongo, level 8 Mankey
    • Scratch
    • Leer
    • Low Kick
  • Nibbles, level 7 Rattata
    • Tackle
    • Tail Whip
    • Quick Attack

Entering Viridian Forest, our first encounter is a weedle whom I named Jabroney. Unfortunately, our next encounter was also a weedle, who poisoned Nibbles on the only attack it got off, and wouldn't you know it, I forgot to buy anitidotes, necessitating a Potion on the walk back to the Pokecenter.

After fixing that oversight, we had another scare in Viridian Forest as a trainer's caterpie scored back-to-back critical hits on Nibbles, but the little guy tanked 'em and finished the fight. After a little more grinding on the Pewter City side of Route 2 to catch Nibbles and Kongo up to Leo and Sandy, we head off to the gym.

Unsurprisingly, Leonardo swept the Pewter Gym, gaining 3 levels and learning Water Gun in the process. Picking up the Running Shoes on the edge of town, I call this a session. Leo is getting close to evolving, and I need to decide whether or not I'm letting him.

    The Team

  • Leonardo: Level 13 Squirtle
    • Tackle
    • Tail Whip
    • Water Gun
    • Withdraw
  • Miss Sandy, Level 10 Pidgey
    • Tackle
    • Sand Attack
    • Gust
  • Kongo, Level 10 Mankey
    • Scratch
    • Leer
    • Low Kick
  • Nibbles, Level 10 Rattata
    • Tackle
    • Tail Whip
    • Quick Attack
  • Jabroney, Level 4 Weedle
    • Poison Sting
    • Strong Shot
