I don't want to play EWJ HD until I have a proper TV, so vanilla Earthworm Jim'll be just fine.
Which of the 16 bit ports are best? I haven't played them to completion. (because the sound and humor is what I love about the games, I think the Genesis is superior. The SNES voice layout, if that makes sense, is kind of bad.)
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.For me, Earthworm Jim always played best on the Genesis, where Eartworm Jim 2 was better on the Saturn than any of the others. The Saturn version was altered a bit and honestly just feels better. Though I think the Psycrow levels are actually harder in that version...
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireI like the PC version the best: You can replay any level, the sound and music is better, I think the graphics are better, but I might be misremembering, and there's tons of fun cheat codes (Afro, anyone?).
Which PC version, Noimporta?
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Bump.
If any of you guys have a Twitter, I'm doing a poll on who should develop a new hypothetical Earthworm Jim game.
It's got 3 days and 4 hours left and it's between WayForward Technologies and Studio MDHR .
Triple bump and it's serious this time!
- It's an exclusive for the new upcoming Intellivision Amico console!
- THE ORIGINAL EWJ TEAM ARE BACK!
- Learn more on May 4th during a live session at 12pm PT (or 3pm EST).
Granted, I'm iffy on the exclusivity for a console that isn't coming until late next year, but EARTHWORM JIM IS COMING BACK, BABY!
C'mon, tell me DTN isn't involved... c'mon...
(reads announcement)
Damn it. Oh well. Guess I don't need this revival.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. What? Why—
(Reads on Twitter that DTN is essentially an anti-POC, anti-LGBT super-asshat towards the game and comic communities.)
...
I mean, I was stoked to hear EWJ was coming back, but now I feel dirty...
I'm so stupid, I didn't realize DTN stood for you know who.
Anyway... that sucks.

Take away all the lowercase letters from the artist's name. In short, we're all talking about the same guy.
I'm using DTN because he sometimes searches out discussions about him and comes in, bringing all sorts of drama. The hope was, by shortening his name, I was hoping to sidestep the possibility.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Yeah, I WANT to support the game and apparently it's fine to support the product but not the creator.
Problem is, said product is coming to a system that looks like it'll go the way of the Ouya, so...
Versions for the Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC later down the line when this Amico inevitably crashes and burns? …Maybe?
I'm afraid in the current age, the you-know-who will be emboldened to have his views and beliefs feature far more prominently in new EWJ game. I get such feeling he'd want potshots at anything he dislikes and considers "sinful" or something.
I wonder if David Perry or Tommy Tallarico had issues with him before. Or they're gonna go along with his shenanigans or more...
Maybe it's because I live in The South, but I'm really not affected by his ultra Christian-ness. It's just the way some people are. Cultists gonna cult.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireHis behavior is easily bad PR just waiting to happen, which is probably the last thing they'd want when bringing EWJ back into relevancy after twenty-odd years of nothing. Especially when the #MeToo movement is still going strong (hopefully).
If they're smart, they won't let him have too much control over what gets in the game and what doesn't.
(Dear god, please let them be smart.)
..so who is this DTN?
Sounds like he's done some shady shit, and I'd hate for it to ruin Earthworm Jim.
I'm sure we all remember the animated series. Those were good times, and I don't want them to die due to some asshole spreading said assholery around.
One Strip! One Strip!Yeah, that was a good show. :)
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.Doug TenNapel. The guy that made Earthworm Jim. He's an uber Christian type and has uber Christian type opinions.

Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireI wouldn't be surprised that the worst case scenario ends up being if DTN makes too much of a ruckus, the crew would be forced to throw him under a bus.
Recent history has proven that most (if not all) things can move on just fine should the maker prove to be too much of a pain to endure. Namely:
- John K., one of the creators of Ren and Stimpy (Bob Camp helped). He took too long and was pissy with everyone (and also did icky stuff with underage girls). What happens? He gets fired from his show.
- The creator of Clarence got outed for his indecency towards women. What happened? He got fired from his own show and as the eponymous character. Show lasted for 3 seasons.
- Chris Savino, the maker of The Loud House. Same story as above. What happened? Show's still going.
- John Lasseter, one of Pixar's founding fathers. Being gross with women and rude to others as a result of getting drunk with power and fame. Again, what happened? Booted off Disney and is giving Skydance a headache as we speak.
If it happened to them, it can happen to DTN.

I'm not sure what the worry is. It's not like his previous games were trying to hammer home his Christian beliefs. Earthworm Jim, Neverhood, Skullmonkeys and Armikrog exist seemingly without controversy.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinairePeople generally don't want to give money to assholes.
Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.No. I get that. He's just an asshole that makes stuff I like.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireYeah. It's a shitty choice.
Miss out on something you enjoy because you hate the dude who makes it, or support someone you hate by buying something you enjoy.
I guess it's a matter of which is more important to you.
One Strip! One Strip! And even then, said something is coming to a system that ISN'T any of the big boys and is already classified as DOA by some (a la the Ouya).
They say "exclusive to the Intellivision Amico", but who wants to wager that after 10 or so months of exclusivity, this new Earthworm Jim game will (at the very least) end up on the Switch? Or maybe the PlayStation 5 or the next Xbox? (Since those will be the ones getting talked about by October 2020, which is when the Intellivision Amico is supposed to come.)
Earthworm Jim deserves a thread of his own.
Those great games on the Genesis and Saturn were a blast both then and now.
Whatever happened to Jim? I've always been curious as to why he kinda fell off the edge of the world after Jim 3D. I mean, it wasn't THAT BAD of a game, and he even had a hit kids show at the time. Even more recent attempts to bring Jim back have been met with failure before they reached fruition. Seriously, what happened to Jim?
