Were Bethesda always like this

New theme music also a boxWow, that is cheap as hell. Shortchanging with the Fallout 76 bags was cheap, but this is somehow even worse. What, are words too expansive now?
Putting aside that plagiarism is always dumb.
If you're gonna plagiarise something to a Pen and Paper RPG crowd, why would you pick D&D? That's literally the one game you can be most sure people will catch you on.
Or whichever team of "keen people" this was farmed to clearly left it to the last minute or weren't that au fait with D&D, so just... cribbed.
I mean, how many marketeers would even know / care to check about plagiarism "It's just, like, a nerd game, yeah?" (Even in a game that makes games, I can still imagine the marketing side having that attitude)
I gotta say, I just don't get what the fuck bethesda's doing there. Their entire image is built around giving us the lore-first nerdy power fantasy that nobody else is gonna give us, and they're doing what might be literally the most counterproductive thing to that image. And they're not even trying very hard at it either. It's like they want to have backlash thrown their way.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Geez, even the Author of the D&D adventure realized they were plagerized.
I mean, I'd hope that the author of a work would realize when something is plagiarizing them.
From what im hearing other sourceswise, what happened is that, the updated adventure was designed by an employee to run for his friends, then a manager saw it and had the brilliant idea to publish it.
Apparently Skyblivion is shockingly close to release. They just dropped a teaser trailer with a description stating that "It’s been a long ride but we are finally at a point where the end is almost in sight."
Maybe I'll actually beat Oblivion now.
Wasn't there a Morrowind mod that put it in a different game engine?
Either Morroblivion or Skywind - former got its full release and is... eh; latter is still in development.
You need Skyrim to play Skyoblivion, right? I only got Skyrim on Switch....sadness.
I think this mod is still seemingly as far-off in release as ever, but, hey, it's still cool.
For those who can't see the video, some Skywind gameplay was shown off at Gamescom this year. Outside of showing off the general world, you can see spears being used once combat starts.
The video doesn't show off anything particuarly ground-breaking, I think, but still, I enjoyed seeing Balmora again in Skyrim-like graphics.

It's crazy to me that we're probably going to get fan remakes of both Morrowind and Oblivion before any official remakes. I know Bethesda wants to focus on Elder Scrolls 6, but if a few unpaid fans can do it, it couldn't take the actual developers that much work. And I'd think they would make quite a bit of money on it too, I've always wanted to play Morrowind and Oblivion but the dated game mecahanics have kept me from getting far into them (for now). I'd buy a remake in an instant, and I doubt I'm alone in that.
I missed the part where that's my problem. So the composer for Elder Scrolls, Jeremy Soule, was recently accused of rape by an indie game developer.

Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youWell, this is pretty damning. Hate to read about stuff like that. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise that he wasn't chosen to make the score for ESVI.
I don't want to make a hasty judgment, as I know the composer only very little outside of the music he does, but with how heavily scrutinized this claim will be, I feel like it's probably true.
I think people in the industry knew that something was up, seeing how Soule's profile suddenly dropped drastically during the years of 2014-16.
I mean, was already known that Soule was somewhat of a pretentious prick. Like, there was the stuff like him comparing digital piracy to the Holocaust, and the weird "spiritual" language he used around that Kickstarter he never delivered on, and how he broke ties with ArenaNet because he felt snubbed over not being invited for a Christmas party. It is just that no one supposed that the rabbit hole went that deep.
We're all still aliens.Yikes
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youa bit: What Soule is alleged to have done sounds like quid-pro-quo sexual harassment to me. Which is rape with fancy legalism implying that the rapist did some sort of service to the rapee in exchange. It's a pretty common thing in the entertainment industry, to the point that one of my fave You Tube content creators, the guy who does the Legal Eagle videos, referred to it frequently in his review of Liar, Liar.
Soule better have a good lawyer, or three.
Thought this would be of interest to the thread, someone just released... Skygerfall.
It's not a full recreation of Daggerfall but the main quest is recreated with voice-acting, as are the handcrafted dungeons relating to it. The worldspace is scaled down to about two-thirds the size of Skyrim, according to the description, though the areas around parts of the main quest are the areas most developed.
Map aside, as far as gameplay goes, the mod brings bashing locks and some 'new' spells — like Levitation, Unlock, Mark and Recall — to Skyrim. All the Daggerfall monsters are in, and some are immune to some types of weapons. You can become a wereboar.
I haven't played it yet, so I can't speak to the mod's quality personally, but I can appreciate the effort besides.
Should i get Skyrim or Skyrim SE? I remember hearing a bunch of mods weren't compatible with SE but that was years ago now.
Also maybe with mods I can finally enjoy Oblivion instead of abandoning it after five hours.
I'd get the original Skyrim personally so you dont have to deal with the creation club nonsense
New theme music also a box
...I'm not even surprised anymore.
Disgusted, but not surprised
