a reminder sometimes that we take GOOD RTS games for granted sometimes.

New theme music also a boxLike I said, this game shows why most RTS followed the Dune II model.
Shit, friggin' Baldies seemed way more playable than this.

Disgusted, but not surprisedWe had Baldies installed on a school computer and played it during lunch breaks, game had charming graphics and was a fun if average RTS,I'd love to see Ross try Fate of the Dragon though, which was basically an Age of Empires clone set during the three kingdoms period, only its very gory
New theme music also a boxIt's Halloween again. Time to kill some time by watching Ross kill some time playing Killing Time in the latest holiday-themed Game Dungeon.
...Aaand I've gone cross-eyed.

Ross is out with another Game Dungeon, this time covering TrickStyle, a hoverboard racing game for the Dreamcast:
For this year's Christmas edition of the Game Dungeon, Ross looks at the classic title Fahrenheit (or Indigo Prophecy):
Aka the weirdest game I've played and the most pretentious

New theme music also a boxIt is a David Cage game right?
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. That diagram is actually pretty accurate, I think i've seen it in multiple game design books
It's kinda nice to see someone else point out the problem that I encountered with the quicktime-sequences: "I'm sure that there's a really interesting and cool scene playing out here, but if I want to continue I'm stuck focussing instead on these insipid flashing lights." :/
Thankfully, I seem to recall that I found that—in my version, at least—I could just mash buttons and the game would accept the ones that happened to be correct. :P
My Games & WritingIt's been years. OMG.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Ross returns to a familiar land in the newest Game Dungeon episode: The Legend of Kyrandia 2.
Ross looks at clones of the difficult arcade racer OutRun in the latest Game Dungeon.
New Freeman's Mind 2 just dropped.
Ross has this year's Halloween-edition of Game Dungeon with Kâbus 22, a Turkish survival horror game:
This year's Christmas edition of the Game Dungeon has Ross... give up on Christmas- or winter-themed games entirely (it's slim pickings). Instead, he goes with an unrelated adventure game called State of Mind:

Hmm I'm kinda sensing though that Ross doesn't hesitation on nature of digital sapience xD
As Ross predicted in his video on the game (though not exactly when he predicted it would happen), Ubisoft will be shutting down The Crew this April.
Edited by SonicWind on Jan 18th 2024 at 1:34:39 PM
Ross has put up a follow-up on his plans on to proceed with his plan to proceed with legal action against Ubisoft regarding the shutdown of The Crew:
Here are the broad strokes:
- Ross's plan is to arrange a massive campaign among users in non-American countries to contact their local consumer protection agencies and have them file their complaints against Ubisoft. He cites how similar campaigns had success with getting countries to ban lootboxes and getting Steam to give out refunds. He specifies that EU countries and Australia are top priorities.
- Ross needs help getting info about the step-by-step process for how to contact each country's individual protection agencies and how to get as much publicity drawn to the topic as possible.
- He wants French users to contact Ubisoft as soon as possible about their concerns, and then summon a legal mediator when the issue is not resolved. He admits this takes time to do, but it's the most effective tool people who've bought the game can do right now.
- Ross is convinced that America is basically a lost cause in terms of making any legal case for this. Essentially, American law seems to indicate that consumers have no ownership rights for the software of a game and defers to user license agreements above all else. The only way to make any changes is to get congress involved or hope that a similar campaign to file complaints with the FTC, neither of which are likely to happen.

And Ross has officially set his game-saving campaign in motion. Check out his site for it to see what you can do to help him out.
I wish Ross luck with his project. I don't find it as compelling an argument as he seems to, but that's fine. If he wins, we all win. Little grumpy about Freeman's Mind 2 getting pushed off, but I guess we can wait another seven years (or whatever) for that to be done.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"
Ross did not even try to see the alien campaign ending.
That is how bad this game was.
Disgusted, but not surprised
