I was thinking that too but wouldnt that fall under New Media? Im not sure since many radio stations do include podcasts, so it's a toss up really.

According to the New Oxford American Dictionary, a podcast is a
a digital recording of a radio broadcast or similar program, made available on the Internet for downloading to a personal audio player, but the generally accepted definition has expanded to include video as well as audio. Originally derived from a combination of "broadcasting" and "iPod ™," the word was declared "word of the year" when it was added to the dictionary at the end of 2005. So it seems like Podcasts are a type of broadcast except rather than on the air they're distributed online. Well, considering that we only have two topics for Podcasts, one in New Media and another in Western Animation, is it alright if we make Radio the unofficial subforum for Podcasts?

I like that this subforum exists- shows how often I check the forum top that I've only just noticed it.
The podcast debate... I think of them as counting as radio, although an awful lot of podcasts out there wouldn't likely fit on any model of radio otherwise.

Radio, like Second-Person Narration, is a very underrated medium that still Needs More Love in my opinion. I know that ever since the introduction of the television in the 1950s there been a decline in radio but with the millennium age of technology, with XM and online radio, I'm hoping it makes a comeback. Theres just that aesthetic quality of wing able to tune into a radio station, whether on the air or online streaming, that I think is unmatched.
Anyway, not sure where I was going with this but I'd much rather be awakened by a Jazz radio station than my alarm clock's buzzer.
