And then it has it's Japanese name that I'm sure a lot of people prefer. I really want to play this game but am having a lot of trouble. Scrolling shooters were one of my favourite non-RPG type game to play as a little kid, but I never got to play many of them. Now as I'm an adult, and don't have around on game per year or so, in the form of a Christmas present, and a computer that can emulate old technology, I want to play lots of shooters. Not first person shooters, scrolling shooters. And "Keio Flying Squadron" is one of those franchises I want to play, all of them. I'm already really into it from watching videos on youtube and screenshots. It's got this beautiful Japanese theme, and of course, it's a tota anime game. They didn't even try to take out all the moe for the non-Japanese release.

But I'm having a lot of trouble. I've worked with Fusion, the newest release of it with bios for every region. But all the roms I have tried don't make it past the JVC screen. I've tried to get my Sega Saturn emulators to work, but I can't seem to get it past this audio cd-esque intro, setup area. So I'm trying to work for the Play Station version of the game, even though I want to play them all. At least in this case I will know it would be a faulty .Iso instead of an emulation problem. As I have generally not had any problems emulating Play Station games for a long time, and most graphical plug-in issues all sorted out and understood. I'm pretty comfortable and used to Play Station emulation. ...But I can't find the Iso for 蘭未ちゃんの大江戸すごろく慶応遊撃隊外伝/Rami-chan no Oedo Sugoroku -Keio Yuugekitai Gaiden.

Of course, I'd like to buy it and play it as well. Not only as a "last resort" because I'm not getting the other things to work. I'm a pack rat, and like to own plenty of things that take "unecceary space", and that's a problem actually. But needless to say I like having a library full of books and discs. And for me, owning something like that with a nice anime casing, is like owning an anime figurine. I can emulate Play Station 2 games now, most of them just fine. But I was tempted to buy an anime-esque used game from Atlus, just because the box-art was so magnificent.

And yet, look at ebay. Any and all versions of the game are well more than 50$ used. One with a skyway price of $300! I love the prospect of playing this game, and am truly dying to play it. But as much as I want this game, including and especially to own, $100 or so is very steep to pay for a used game just because it's a cutesy and interesting looking scrolling shooter.

In terms of material, I prefer to "own". As in, I prefer to have a physical copy. And in terms of playing, I prefer to emulate. But at the very least, I hope that some one like the Play Station Network picks this game up. Paying $10 for this game would be a steal in comparison to paying at the very lowest $60. And I would still be able to give money to creators. I really want to at least play this game, and it seems as if nearly my only way of doing it right now, is to spend a great deal of money on the actual used copies that benefit no one other than collectors who knew their games would be worth something someday. Spend a great deal of time more searching and understanding emulation on the internet. Or waiting patiently for some good store to pick it up for Digital Distribution.

Any possible advice maybe? How I can convince Sony to put this on their store? What I'm doing wrong in terms of emulation? People trying to goad me into spending ridiculous prices on a used collector's item?

It's strange, but this happened to me as well when I tried to play it using Kega Fusion. The game goes to the JVC screen, then stays at a black screen. However, the game worked fine if I pressed start when the JVC logo appeared on the screen. I hope that helps.

My God, it actually worked! This makes me incredibly happy.

Now if I can only get myself able to play the others.
