And I don't think that Captain Atom image works, I can't really tell what's going on there. That Card image had the right idea, maybe something showing the meltdown effecting a large area? Does anyone know anything like that?

The Captain Atom pic works for me, but I think we need a before panel (if there's one that works) and IIRC, the panel of static that comes after.

Here◊ is a scan of the complete page the Captain Atom image comes from. Personally, I think one panel works and the single panel gets across everything necessary - the visual, the reaction, he's named "Atom", etc.

Bump...what about this El Goonish Shive strip? The last four panels could work, but if we could get away with less than that, that'd be better.
