Looks like that trailer confirmed a lot of what was already hinted at - Oryx leads the Hive, and Crota is a super-Knight who serves as her top general (the 'her' remains speculation, but probable speculation).

You know aside from getting that one shard of the Traveler back, we didn't even really do anything to stop the Hive from building up their army. I mean yeah, now they'll have to use those Seeder things instead of being straight-up teleported, but still the Earth is in danger of being invaded.

Well we also shot up a bunch of them, can't forget that.

And destroyed their living siege engine. And disrupted their offworld communications, breaking their chain of command.

All stuff that can be fixed though. Not like the House of Devils where we killed their Prime Servitor.

Well the number of "unfixable" losses would be rather low for anything, I'd think, wouldn't it? That doesn't mean it isn't still a blow dealt to them.

[up]Fallen Houses have spare Servitors to replace their Primes, though it's still a major blow (they need time to grow that big). I'd say Phogoth is a similarly significant material loss.

Is the Tumbler compatible with Xur's Sparrow upgrades? Because if it means I don't have to spend an ungodly amount of marks on a Vanguard Sparrow to get top jetbike performance, that'd be pretty sweet.

Now I'm sort of doing a mental tally of all the things we've smashed.

For the Fallen we've basically destroyed the House of Devils, they've lost quite a few Archons and other assorted higher ups and their Prime Servitor has been destroyed. Their Kell still lives but killing him is like killing a king, he's just a political figure that can be replaced. What we did with the Servitor is poison the well and destroy their food source. They're basically out of it for a loooong time.

House of Exile I think all we did was kill one Baron. Though I get the impression they aren't too well off to begin with. Their invasion of the Hellmouth felt more like an act of desperation than an actual plan to retake the moon to me.

House of Winter we killed their Kell and I think some other Barons and people. Though their Servitor lives so I think they'll be fine in the long run, if out of the fight in the short term.

House of Kings I don't know what they're up to. I know Aksor on Venus is actually from the House of Kings but he was effectively already out of the fight for an undetermined time while he was locked up, we just made sure he stayed out permanently. Though apparently his revival was a big enough worry that the Vex tried to stop it. I'm not sure what that means about the power of the House but that has to count for something.

House of Wolves is missing their Kell. Or is the Queen the Kell now? Whatever they case they seem to listen to her. I think their Prime Servitor is still alive though but in hiding. I'm gonna take a wild guess and assume the House of Wolves DLC is about killing him.

Anything I'm missing? I think that's it for the Fallen.

The Queen of the Reef is their Kell now, which is why they serve her. She probably has everything they've got, including the High Servitor.

[up][up][up]The Tumbler is already legendary level, so it probably won't. It's not quite as fast or durable as upgrading a rare sparrow to legendary, but it's only like 10 points less.

Also, while in the air, not only can you flip around with it, if you push the directional buttons you will do tricks that will cause you to regain all your boost meter when you land.

The House of Winter's Prime Servitor, Simiks Prime, is already gone. Simiks-3, who you killed in The Archive, was its heir.

The Devil Kell is probably still a major threat. The Fallen operate off Asskicking Equals Authority, and the Devils have been the most immediate and dangerous threat to humanity for decades. If this is the guy (or lady) who almost destroyed the City at Twilight Gap, odds are they're scary,

Yeah but they need a High Servitor for their ether supply and things. They're gonna be hurting for a while.

And I didn't know Winter's Servitor was dead though, with it's heir and Kell gone they're pretty much fucked aren't they?

Also I've got enough coins to waste on a plasma drive or something this weekend, I'll report if they're compatible.

Grimoire cards say Simiks Prime's demise is presumed but unconfirmed. So the big round fella might make a comeback.

Hmm, well good for them I suppose.

Also just realized Eris is just someone who wasn't badass enough to finish a Raid. Weak.

Now let me think about the Hive.

Did we do much to their forces on Earth? I don't think we did. We killed an important wizard or something though. Probably. I'm sure that'll change in The Dark Below.

On the moon we killed the Swarm Princes and destroyed Crota's sword by beating it against people until it disintegrated. I'm assuming they were all important. I'm also assuming he'll be pretty miffed about that when he comes back in December.

We destroyed the Shrine that lets them communicate with Oryx and I'm assuming she's like supreme commander or god of the Hive. We also killed that big guy but I don't actually know what his job in the Hive was other than be big and step on people who bothered the Shrine.

We killed the Siphon Witches and got back the Traveler's Shard. I don't know if that actually hurt them or if we just foiled a plan. They lost a lot of sunk resources either way though.

We looted their super library and got some stuff. Dunno if we actually stole their info or if we just copied it though.

And we killed Phogoth though I get the impression he was just a big giant they were going to use to smash stuff and that he didn't hold any sort of position of power. I mean the dude was chained down. Whatever the case is I bet he was expensive to replace.

I can't really think of anything else.

[up]Sardok was a defence construct for the Shrine of Oryx. Apparently, every Shrine has one because of their strategic and religious importance. We did also kill the librarian of the World's Grave, the Hive's top archivist, so I guess that's something.

Phogoth might not have been a Hive leader (in fact, he definitely wasn't), but he was a siege engine designed to breach the City. That's pretty significant to an Earth invasion, I figure.

There's also the Thorn bounty chain, where we kill the Wizard responsible for running a centuries-long Hive plot to turn Guardians to the Darkness and turn the bait she was using into a safe, powerful weapon against them.

Plus they can just make more Ogres. Hell, they probably have more deeper inside the Hellmouth.

So Sardok wasn't anyone too important then.

Didn't actually do the Thorn bounty chain, was always too lazy and the reward as never good enough.

Feels like all we did we stop a few immediate plans of invasion instead do any lasting damage to the Hive. Oh well, I'm sure that things will change in our favor come Dark Below. At the very least I wanna see this Crota guy, he's supposedly a massive badass. I'll be disappointed if he's just a big knight.

[up][up]Ogres are easy, but the ritual of rebirth seems to be much harder, and hella conspicuous even when you're doing it a kilometre or so underground.

As for Sardok, he's not so much important on his own as an emphasiser of a a Shtine of Oryx's importance. Anything they guard with that is pretty damned significant.

But is it important because of religious reasons or is having a communication link to Oryx that vital to their plans?

I wonder if that's why they're suddenly putting forth such effort to revive Crota. They can't talk to Oryx so they're getting the next best thing, her top general.

Bit of both, I figure. Why they're reviving Crota likely has a lot to do with how they're doing it and why he went dormant after single-handedly conquering the moon. Maybe it just takes ages to gather enough power to fuel one of his rampages?

Possibly. I guess we'll just figure it out in a few weeks. That DLC feels more interesting the more we all talk about this stuff.

How badly did we hurt the Cabal? All we did was kill a few select leaders. Ta'arc was a really important general but everyone else felt fairly replaceable. And the Cabal seem like the kind of people to have a well defined chain of command so we couldn't have done more than set them back slightly.

Those Psion Flayers were just trying to bother Rasputin but in the end they failed. Cayde seemed to speak like they weren't uncommon though.

We killed Primus Sha'aull, the leader of the Blind Legion, the Cabal's anti-Vex combat/research regiment who are at the strategic heart of their activities on Mars, and fatally disrupted their research on the Vex. So that's pretty big. Also, we punched holes in the Iron Line until it looked like it was made of Swiss cheese, which can't be good for the Cabal's 'contain, fortify, advance' strategy.
