Is the lore actually in the game now & not on the games website?

That would be really nice. Unfortunately Saturday is my sister's wedding, so I won't be able to unless it's really late (keep in mind in I'm Central Time zone) - although that would net you tipsy me.

But if you all can do it then don't not do it on my account.

I think I read something about D2 having a thing to read it in game but I might be wrong.

Its going to be in game in destiny 2, over 80 story missions with actual writing have been confirmed.

Also, hmmmmmm, what day works for you guys because like we have no real points other then "before destiny 2"

Hmm through Monday I'm available except for when family/wedding stuff goes on, and then next Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday I should be open in the evening/night. The last few days before launch I won't know until my next work schedule gets printed.

Also holy crap Destiny 2 launches in two weeks.

If I reinstall Destiny is there ANY chance of doing the rise of Iron raid, or is that one too complex? It sounds complex.

In the base game? That's very promising if so. How many main story missions did D1 have at launch? Fifteen? Twenty at most? Call it thirty or so with optional missions maybe. If there really are eighty missions with proper writing (which I'm taking to mean actual cutscenes and stuff, meaty storytelling), then that's a huge leap in the right direction.

Well the Devs did say that people are gonna be complaining about there being too much story this time.

Well took the dive off the deepend and preordered the digital deluxe Destiny 2 with World Of Warcraft gold.

Environment looks pretty, that's for sure. Shame the facial animation's still a bit rubbish.

Well played the PC beta opening mission and the strike, runs really well and looks really good.

And having not looked at much of the Destiny 2 stuff it is very much improved with some creative level design. Now if there is a good amount of content at launch with like 10 or so strikes its likely to be a homerun.

According to edge, it has over 50 cut-scenes, and over 80 substantial missions/activities.

The later is a big vauge on further analysis, but the cutscene amount does point twords a more substantial story offering.

I'm getting excited. I don't want to be excited in case it's a letdown.

Any word on if microtransactions are still a thing? They were one of the things I hate in Destiny as it is now, or at least as it was four months ago when I last played, but I doubt anything has changed in that time.

Edit - I also hope there are beards.

Fucking hell :P It's such a small thing, but damn it, I want beards. Why aren't there beards?

I was also reminded today that there's still not matchmaking for everything. I do sorta understand their reasons for doing it, but... just fucking don't. Don't limit player choice. The clan thing where you can fill a gap in a preformed group is a tiny, tiny, step in the right direction, but for the love of mother and child, just let people access content without having to have a pre-arranged group.

Normal raids and stuff are matchmade now which is nice.

No new customization which isn't.

Oh, they are? Got confirmation or a source, because that'd be pretty fucking sweet if it's true.

Again, I kinda get why there's no new customisation (well, presumably it's because you're supposed to be playing the same Guardian), but still, what about new players (actually, would they care), or people who wanted to give their character a beard? :P

I don't think I said this yet, but I was wondering about that opening mission. Presumably it's your Guardian you play as, but wouldn't it be kinda cool if it was just some random other Guardian who dies when Ghaul pushes them off the ship. I feel like that might justify the loss of gear and stuff more. If they were being really bold and wanted to justify the starting over, it could be your Guardian who dies in the opening mission and then you start a whole new one from that point on.

What time is it over there stateside? I'm asking because I know the open beta period is supposed to start at 10:00am on the 29th, but I'm not sure if they're going by East or West coast times.

Its 10 am PST that it starts, although for yesterday's roll out it was a half hour early.

Right now it is 8 am so in 2 hours from the time of this post.

Having played the beta. No I would not say it is the exact same game, but its close. Everything is more refined, feels smoother, has chat functionality, more enemies, seemingly more powers available and so on.

It feels like the upgrade from Halo to Halo 2.

It seems like The bnet client is updating, the open beta is likely available for download now.

Do we know if transferred Guardians will have to look the same as they did in Destiny 1? Because I've mentioned I'd like to change my Titan's hairstyle.

I'm pretty sure that our looks will be ported over.
