Really not much here to be honest. That really bums me out, Destiny needs some proper content soon.
Iron Banner will be starting again on the 26th. Saladin will be selling the scout and fusion rifle. Chest armor and shoes will be the gear.
The game mode is Rift. I might sit this one out.
There is gonna some base game update around February 9th before another holiday event starts.
It's Valentines Day. There's gonna be a special two on two Crucible game type just for the occasion.

This weekend Xur has all armor. Even the legacy engram, which is weird.
Anyway, he's got The Ram, Sealed Ahamkara Grasps, and the MK.44 Stand Asides.
The Ram is a must own and the Grasps are cool but the MK.44 Stand Asides are a first for Xur.
Shoulder Charge lasts longer and you can pull tighter turns while sprinting. Sounds pretty cool if you've got the spare coins. It looks neat at least.

I'm pretty sure they're just doing these events for the rest of the year. In hindsight, they should have done these in between expansions to give themselves a little more development time on each one.

I have two separate issues with the Valentine's Day stuff - first, it's a group activity and I don't usually have a group to play with. Second, I will be in Japan throughout pretty much the entire event.

Short version seems to be that Activision more or less defunded the dev team and Silver and Eververse are them desperately trying to raise money to keep something, anything, going.
Destiny 2 likely won't be out until next year and is basically a reboot. From a developer's perspective at least. New tools and ways to implement things and new plans.
Story and lore aren't changing.
