I could totally see a bunch of magical girls taking up some of the schticks of the gangs in the movie. Teenage girls and young women love dumb rollerblading fights, right? Ask Dazzler and Kitty Pryde (it was a phase, she's had a lot of costumes). And the baseball dudes can be a bunch of girls who decided to join the team together to put their magical strength to good use. But then there's the lesbian gang. Isn't that a little redundant?

Actually, since Urobuchi is trying to get out of his Tragedy syndrome and all, they might not.
Though I think Whedon would have killed more characters in The Avengers if not for the fact that they belong to Marvel. Coulson was just filling a quota.

Actually, the DVD commentary for Avengers is pretty funny because Whedon says killing Coulson wasn't his idea and that he was afraid of getting the blame for it.

Edit: Maybe it's just me, but I feel like rewriting the movie Warriors to be about magical girls instead of street gangs would be pretty amazing?
