Would I bother to read such a book?
Perhaps, if I ever needed a resource for cultures on the Internet.
Otherwise, no.
There are too many toasters in my chimney!

I'd happily read a book like that, but the problem I foresee with it is that it'd date very, very quickly.

It would probably have to be an encyclopedia that is re-released every year or something.
Would you kindly click my dragons?

Hello, TV Tropes community.
Recently, I had an idea: write a book about Internet culture and "lore", with stories such as the rise of Linux and open-source (and its consequent clash with proprietary thingamajigs), the infiltration of Conservapedia, the Penny-Arcade charitable donation incident and whatnot. Perhaps even include a section about memes and another on notable websites and an appendix for additional related notes. And, of course, it would be written in an informal, friendly, and (hopefully) fun style.
First of all, does such a book exist in the first place? Second of all, would you happen to know of similar stories? And finally, would you bother to read such a book?
