Okay, so there's a thing called "#検察庁法改正案に抗議します", which is "I oppose the revision of the public prosecutor's office law." Where, it is a proposal bill for prosecutor's retirement age to be increased by 2 years. Where, this means prosecutors would stay longer in office, thus decreasing the country's democracy. Yamamoto tweeted against it using the manga pages he drew, which then would draw response from online right-wings. Where, they claim that the manga belongs to the Pokemon company, not him and he has no right to use the manga pages. So Yamamoto deleted the tweets, and made an apology for it. He however still made a tweet, going against the prosecutor's office law. It still garnered hate-replies, moreso than his apology. https://twitter.com/satoshi_swalot/status/1259252606754385920?s=20

I will say, there has to be more in that law that increasing retirement age in the Prosecutor's office. The backlash it's apparently generating seems too big for just that.

Well, it is a big deal in Japan, shown with multiple celebrities protesting the bill, including Kyary Pamyu, Arata Iura, and Kyoko Koizumi. Of course, we're not Japanese, so we won't be able to fully understand why this bill is such a huge deal in Japan. This article covers more on the news: https://mainichi.jp/english/articles/20200511/p2g/00m/0na/017000c
I can't pretend to be an expert on Japanese courts at all, but from a gaijin layman's perspective I've heard multiple times about how their criminal justice system is unfairly slanted towards the prosecutor's case. From that perspective, it's easy to see why giving existing tenured prosecutors extra time in power—even if only two years—would seem alarming and unfair to Japanese citizens.
Recently, I have found a site that records every volume wrappers for full volume releases. I found an interesting piece of info, where big-names from Pokemon have all made remarks about Pokespe. http://pkspedia.com/02_datebase/06_serial/cover-belt/poken-serial-cbelt.html [volume 1] The creator of Pokemon, Satoshi Tajiri: "It's a manga closest to the world that I conveyed." He also says "I think I'll be able to hear the breathings of Pokémon......" [volume 2] Pokemon's fosterer, Tsunekazu Ishihara: "I want every Pokémon Fan to read it!" [volume 3] King of the gaming world, Shigeru Miyamoto: "For me, we've been hooked on it as a family!" [volume 4] Pokemon designer, Ken Sugimori: "A work that has people and Pokémon live together with utmost effort." [volume 5] Tomoaki Imakuni: "Can't I be the one to draw this manga?" [volume 7] Sub director of Pokemon Gold and Silver, Junichi Masuda: "This is interesting. Can we please make it into a game!?"
It's weird, under different circumstances Schilly's win probably would have been a good example of catching a break. But between the lack of focus, Nessa's screw up, and her missing Pokemon I just feel bad for her.
So... I’d like to really get into this series proper.
Where’s a “perfectly legal place” to find all the arcs?
One Strip! One Strip! If you simply google "Pokemon Special" than a site that has almost the entire series is literally one of the first couple results that comes up.
Alright since Im all caught up on the twilight Princess manga. time to start pokemon special
So how did Viz decide to localize Soudo and Schieldmilia’s name? Henry and Casey!
Siward and Shiela make more sense to be honest as both are names of European descent.
Check out Rogues Gallery Transplant: The GameThe Dex Holder names were getting super ridiculous (shout-outs to Blake and Whitley's directly-translated names being Lack-Two and Whi-Two) so I'm fine with normal ones.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Wow, actual names for a change.
Are we forgetting Blake (Rachael), Whitley, and Yvonne?
So how is the manga these days? I grew up reading it, read most of it up to part way through XY, didn’t really like enjoy the XY arc all that much, and dropped it. Did they ever finish the B 2 W 2 arc? I did like that one, but last I checked, it still wasn’t finished.
"Let’s see who’s stronger: someone that has something to protect, or someone that has nothing to lose."Yes xy is finished. The skipped lets go and are on ss. Don't know if they till do a return to sinnoh or a legends tie in thing
Yes b2w2 is finished. The skipped lets go and are on ss. And its the only one they are doing Don't know if they till do a return to sinnoh or a legends tie in thing
Guessing they're trying to avoid another Kentaro Miura situation.
Watch SymphogearI've been reading Pokémon Special/Adventures recently.
While its rare I buy physical manga, when it comes to Nintendo adaptions I like getting them physically.
I got the Gold/Silver boxset a couple of weeks ago. And the Ruby/Sapphire one a few days ago, which I've just finished.
I think Gold/Silver was my favorite arc so far. But I thought Ruby/Sapphire was also really good. It's great how the protagonists get more personal development in each series.
Really, I should have read this sooner. I'm not sure exactly why I didn't.
Unfortunately with hindsight I probably should have done a bit more research before buying the volumes.
I've been getting the box sets but it seems like the next one, FRLG/Emerald, is out of print currently.
What is in print is the new collectors editions. Which do look nice, but it is a bit of a shame they won't match the previous standard size volumes 1-22 I have.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobThis was a page and about two years back, but:
Also he wasn't really trying to Murder-Suicide. It was Kyurem that blew up the frigate.
The volume release clarified that nope, it really was Ghetsis trying to Murder-Suicide. He twists the top knob on his staff and it activates a glowing light on the control panel, followed by the explosion. Even the back of the English release of the volume gives the description of White and N corner Ghetsis, whose plan is to self-destruct, destroying everything around him.
Speaking of Ghetsis, Kusaka must have been thinking "how to top Ghetsis losing his mind upon defeat and arrest?" And the answer seems to be "have Lysandre lose his spine upon defeat and arrest". When you realize this means Lysandre has to live as, by his own elitist, prejudiced definition, a "parasite" in society who must "take" more than they can "give"....damn, that's harsh!
