Pokemon Special/Adventures

I'd say HGSS are GSC remakes. Not just GS or Crystal remakes, they take elements from all three games. In any case, this argument's kind of dumb and pointless.

Word on all counts. We oughta drop this debate fast.

If things introduced in Crystal are going to be added to remakes of Gold and Silver, why is Kris exempt? Why is Eusine and his plotline still in HG/SS? The only reason I could think of for replacing Kris is to spare her from being made into some boring character who might as well be a generic character.

Again, the designer (Takao Unno) admitted to not even modelling Lyra after Kris, probably because he forgot all about her. What An Idiot. Why was Unno even there anyway? These things should be left to Ken Sugimori and no one else.

Yeah, that was a fuck up on Unno's part. And I am in total agreement that they're not GS remakes, they're GSC remakes. Special did the right thing by not shafting Crystal, unlike the games. Poor Crystal. Being retconned out of existence isn't very good treatment.

Oh, one more thing.

Ha, I just started getting into superhero comics and I fell in love with so many characters. And then I found out it's normal practice to suddenly act like they never existed to begin with.

Thankfully, Kusaka is a big believer of continuity.

Although seriously, can we not have Yellow and Emerald bashing/arguments every few pages. After this post, seriously, don't mention them unless they reappear in the manga. It's getting annoying.

Agreed. Though I'll never consider Kris to be "retconned out of existance" because I don't take the re-makes' continuity entirely at face value. I like little stuff about them (Leaf, Silver being confirmed as Giovanni's son, etc) but I will always prefer the originals.

What? Have you actually read Emerald yet? The guy's a hideously designed little punk who doesn't even like pokemon outside of battle. How's that so much better than the Sue-ish but still good-hearted Yellow?

I'm reading the Emerald arc right now and I don't find him anywhere near as bad as her.

What kind of drugs are you on? I want some in case I ever want to revisit this arc.

Not that I hate Emerald, but he's definitely by far my least favourite.

It's because Yellow is a horrible sue that never should have been even thought up, while Emerald just looks stupid. He hasn't really done anything to earn my ire.

His entire personality earned my ire. Just the way he expresses himself makes him come off as a little b****. Not to mention he's playing a role that really ought to have been played by Wally.

Oh yeah, sucks that Wally didn't get that role. Oh well.

I personally find Emerald curb-stomping a far superior trainer to be far worse than... uh... whatever the Yellow did, but -shrug-

Not really seeing the problem here. Giant power boost is nice, but once you know about it, you'd need to have pretty weak Pokemon to lose to her.

Finished the Emerald arc, still don't know what you're talking about.

And no, you wouldn't need weak Pokemon to lose to yellow. Two of the three beasts said they'd never be able to defeat her after seeing her power, and ran away. If she decides she's unbeatable, then she's unbeatable.

Emerald trashed Sapphire off-screen. Despite her having far more experience.

And Yellow also hates battling. If she trained AND used her power, then yeah, she'd probably be unbeatable. As it is, just about every other Dex Holder would be better than her. Still not seeing the problem.

Sapphire lost to one of the Frontier Brains. Emerald beat Ruby.

So I've finished the Emerald arc and it was awesome. Gold is so cool.

It will be a while before I start the DPPt arc, though.
