Knockturn
"Well that all depends on what kind of information you're looking for, there's much to be said about everything these days, one has to be able to discern the truth" Gunnar said as he held his gaze on Kieran. "This war has been going on for a while, and our Spanish brethren aside, I'm a it more interested in things happening on our own shores. So what do you want to know?"
"To be honest, I'm a bit bored sitting at home and twiddling my thumbs, and it's fairly obvious that the Ministry's incompetent, but perhaps there are other, less constricting and thus less ethical organizations operating to put an end to this war, with the wizards coming out on top?" Kieran asked giving Gunnar a conspiring look.

"Seriously mate? You must take me for a fool" Gunnar said as he stared back at him. "You waltz in here out of the blue and start demanding things, ow you think that I'm just going to stand here and tell you where some secret organization is. Say there is one, do you think they wold stay secret for long if every Tom, Dick, and Harry that walked in here found out where they were?"
Clark evaluated the room and began setting his priorities for the next day.
"I'm going to be arranging a few meetings." He said. "I'll be in contact with Ritter first thing tomorrow morning to get the lamplighters to work. We need to get an idea of how Karla operates, what she does when she's not arranging a convenient alliance with us."

Warren stared out the window as the amber haze of the sun began to break free of the night, suppressed P226 within arms reach as he sipped his tea and watched as the hours of darkness began to fade away as first light broke and the sun made it's way skyward. They had set in relatively quickly and the soft notification chime of his laptop's inbox was the only thing that broke the early morning calm. Sparking a glance, he noticed that it was from the leadership at Minton before he tore himself from the sunrise and sat down to compose a reply.
"The apartment hunt went well, I'm waiting on our friend from Langley to knock some heads together and give us a lead. I'll let you know what the neighbors are like. -Warren" Warren had barely finished the email when he turned around to see Clark walking through the kitchen.
"You're finally awake."

He nodded. "Sorry about that." He sat down at the table, pushing hair back out of his eyes and blinking away sleep. He began making a quick breakfast with one hand. With the other he checked his phone to see if Ritter had responded to his requests yet.
"Your mission is not to nuke the squid god." —Faramir"Don't worry about it, I don't sleep much and it's been pretty quiet so far, but we'll see how long that holds up" Warren said as he shut the laptop and looked at Clark. "How well do you know the wizarding world?"

"I'm sure you have some questions of me, come in."
"A good amount. It's my job to know, after all." He chuckled. "What do you need to know?"
"Your mission is not to nuke the squid god." —FaramirLondon
"Well for starters, lets go with where are they" Warren asked as he looked at Clark. "To date they've surprised us and our responses have been reactionary at best, if we were able to get actionable intel then we can start taking the fight to them. Taking them out is easy, we just need our foot in the door so to speak, that's where your team comes in."
As if on que, Clarks phone emitted a soft buzz before going quiet. King's Cross, 0900.
"I would make a joke about magic and coincidence, but we know that's tempting Murphy. " Warren said.
"Where are they?" Clark nodded, typing back an affirmative response to the text. "You're going to have to be more specific. I've been to Diagon Alley on a semi-regular basis. I've even been to the Ministry on the very rare occasion. But finding their operatives? That's...much harder. Once we get access to Karla's networks hopefully we'll be able to track them in almost-real-time."

Warren mulled over Clarks words as he drove the group through the early morning traffic, slowly moving in and out of cars in an attempt to modify their route, ever alert as he made his way to the desired meeting point.
Kings Cross came into their vision as Warren turned into an empty parking space, tucking his hands into his pockets to brace against the crisp winter chill, slowly strumming his fingers on the slide of his pistol. Save for the increased security presence, there was no outward indication that there had been a battle here barely a year ago. Taking point he moved forward until they came to a small cafe located in the atrium of the station, where a sole figure was sitting alone at a table, apparently oblivious to their movement.
Her dark red hair was pulled back in a long ponytail that fell down past her shoulders and her black trenchcoat was tied at the waist to protect from the cold. Lifting her sunglasses revealed dark green eyes that stared back at them the moment they approached the table.
"Warren it's good to see you again, Agent Clark I'm Agent Cain, director Ritter has tasked me with being your contact while you're in the city. Now I suppose we should get down do it, any objections?"
"Cassie" Warren said as he pulled out a chair.
"Good to make your acquaintance." Clark said, sitting down opposite her. He placed a small metal box, not much larger than a slide-phone, on the table and pressed the power button. A green light blinked on.
"Now, let's get to work." He said. "What kind of assets do we have, particularly within the Ministry of War and the Unspeakables? We'll need to pin down her chain of command first off."

“I take it that you didn't come all the way here for a social call” William Garza said in Spanish as he motioned for the pair to take a seat in one of the many chairs that adorned his modest living room. “No doubt you have questions if the look on your face is anything to go by. Though as much as I know you're no doubt interested in my past, I think that there are certain events happening in the present that have a bit more precedence."Ministry of Magic
"Hey Greengrass, you feel like hanging out tonight, the lads and I are going to grab a few pints, reckon you should tag along" Carl Avery said as he deftly pulled his aurors robe over his head and stuffed it into his modest locker. "It'll be a good way to meet the lads, and you could do with a bit of fun in your life. Don't tell me that you sit around all day with that quill and pad of yours. So what do you say?"edited 7th Sep '14 4:06:27 PM by Kino
London - Kings Cross
"According to our most recent update we have a few low level assets in the Ministry of War, clerks and secretaries for the most part, though there are a few individuals on the operational side that we've been monitoring to see just how receptive they would be to our particular brand of persuasion. As for the Unspeakables that is an entirely different matter, we don't know that much about them at the moment, one would assume that that the name is more than for show. That being said, we have a source that claims he can identify some of their members, this might be him blowing smoke but it's worth checking out" Cassie said as she drank her coffee. "That's the general sense of things at the moment."
"Did you learn anything from the girl you picked up a week ago?" Warren asked
"Ah, her" Cassie said with a grin. "It's funny you mention that, if Warren hasn't told you already we have something of a history. Best to get it out of the way now. But to touch on what he mentioned, there was an incident in Massachusetts approximately a week ago, wizards attacked an airbase but we managed to take some of them into custody."

"I wanna know about the djinn." Lita said.

"Ah, I see" William said as he took a seat across from Lita. "I take it that you're already familiar with the basic lore surrounding the creature?"
Clark raised an eyebrow. "Oh good. I was aware of the event, but I haven't been briefed on the details. Go on."
"Your mission is not to nuke the squid god." —Faramir"Snow, mind control, blue on blue" Warren said "There's a report on it back home if you're interested".
"Agent Clark, do you have a proposed course of action? We also have Agency assets on hand, but I feel as though this operation would proceed better with some discretion and flexibility." Cassie replied as she drained her cup. "How soon will your people be ready to conduct operations?"
"Most of our operations I expect to be intelligence-gathering. Wetwork will be minimal in this case." He said. "I have a way to contact Karla, but I doubt that will come into play until the denouement. I am quite capable of fieldwork myself in extenuating circumstances, but working through agents in place is a more effective option for the moment."

"Then it sounds like you already know what you're going to do" Cassie said as she stole a quick glance at her phone. "Like I said before, you do have Agency assets at your disposal, but this does look like it's going to very intel based. And I think I might be able to help you with that, we have the individuals from the airbase attack in custody, perhaps you can get something relevant out of them Agent Clark. You game?"
Diagon Alley
The small group of Aurors walked into the pub moments later and wasted no time in getting a table to themselves and ordering the first round of drinks. Whether it was the collective relief to be off duty or the momentary relief from day to day stress, the witches and wizards drank in subdued happiness as the sun moved higher into the sky.
"So Ms. Greengrass, what do you think of your first day in the field? Reckon it's a bit more excitement than you're used to eh?"
"Your charismatic personality, obviously. Of course we didn't come to a bar to have a drink." Not able to resist the urge to act like a smart aleck, Kieran rolled his eyes, before continuing, "We were hoping for some news on the War too. Stopped believing the propaganda rubbish that the Daily Prophet keep on giving us since they said that the Spanish Ministry had almost won their war and were close to victory half a year ago."
