Kinda looks like an RPG but with similar aesthetics. I'm interested, at the very least.

Bumping this. Why? Because reviews are coming in from Japan... and whaddiya know? It's apparently actually quite good.

I actually found an interview not too long ago (that, of course, I can't find at all now) where the creative director for the game notes that all the game's Laytonish aspects (like the main character's top hat) were all in quite loving homage, and that in some ways, he was going for an Affectionate Parody feel. Whish I could dig it up, because this game actually seems like a lot of fun now.

I'm hoping it comes over here, myself.

Don't care if it's a "rip off" or not. It still looks interesting.

[up]Exactly what I feel right now. Obviously they really put some thought/production values into this, and the fact that the English V As are pretty good is saying something.

Might keep us busy while we wait for Layton 4 & 5.

The first time I heard of the game, I thought it was a cheesy copycat. As a big Layton fan, I simply ignored it afterwards.

The E3 trailer looks pretty awesome, and the voice actors were pretty good. Looks like fun. Still filled with cheesy lines though. I expect the story to be some kind of emotionally overcharged Japanese drama like Ace Combat.

Dangit, missed the fact that it was for 3DS. I already promised myself I wouldn't get one until the Lite version comes out, likely in a year or so... but I'm worried that if I miss this one it'll disappear from the shelves. Hm.

[up] Well you can always buy it on its release so to make sure you'll keep a copy handy, then wait until the day you get the console. That's what I did with Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn and Sakura Wars: So Long My Love, and boy was I right to do so: those two titles now are real hard to find in my country.

I am really digging the amount of love clearly going into this project. It's clear that they want this to be better than just "a Professor Layton clone." And when there's that want, you can feel it.
